used trailer breaks

anyone running breaks?? I just bought some take off electrical breaks that the po said he took off of a bunkhouse camper. What controller are you using on the bike to adjust them??

I have to watch this one.

I want to put electric brakes onto my HF trailer as well. I can not just mount brakes on to the HF axle, I will have to make a whole new axle from scratch. But that will also give me standard bearings and seals for future maintenance.

I do not like the increased stopping distance required. Especially while trying to survive Chicago traffic every time I want to head south or east.

 

I was going to get all of the parts from R and P Carriages just down the road from you.

 

I was looking at several options for the controller.

The one that looked the most promising to me was (I forget the brand offhand) one that had a key fob remote control that could adjust the braking force via wireless remote. I was then going to mount the controller onto the trailer to save wiring and mess on the bike. None of the controllers that I have found are even water resistant, they are all designed to mount inside of a cage. You want to be able to control the controller while riding.
