djh3 Posted February 12, 2013 #1 Posted February 12, 2013 At the risk of having things thrown at me I have to tell you about a ride I went on yesterday with the wife. My somewhat local Victory dealer (60 miles away) that also handles Yamaha and Suzuki's had a get together cutomer/rider appreacation day. Coffee doughnuts in AM a nice 60 or so mile loop ride in mid 70 deg weather back country roads all in all a really nice day. We returned to the dealer Sky Powersports in Lakeland Fl. and they feed us lunch, pulled pork, hot dogs potato salade and cole slaw and cold soft drinks. They also had a drawing for some hotel rooms for bike week. No I didnt win. I bet there was over 80 bikes of all makes even a fellow that had just traded his old suzuki scooter for a 650 bergman. 2 can am spyders. Here is the part I found amusing. Here they are a Victory dealer so you know they have some trade-ins. The guys from the dealer that went on the ride with us you would think could pick from just about anything they have on the floor right? one fellow own a Vic Cross Country so thats what he rode. 2 of the other guys when we got there were gear on ..............Used RSV's. I have no idea the ages other than they were both older than my 09. The tanks emblems looked a bit different. But I though "wow of all the choices they picked these". They have like 3 stores spread out thru the state, and actually my bike came from over in Port Richy Fl, a couple hours ride from my place. Man its nice to live in someplace that dont snow. (ps just looked at thier web site. The bikes were an 06 and 08)
Dale124 Posted February 12, 2013 #2 Posted February 12, 2013 I'm so jealous. We are under a couple of feet of accumulated snow here in Alberta, and it will likely be with us til April, god willing. Dale:fingers-crossed-emo:fingers-crossed-emo:fingers-crossed-emo
Guest scarylarry Posted February 12, 2013 #3 Posted February 12, 2013 And people here wonder why I will walk off from everything to move there.. Yall have more bike gatherings in a month than we do in a year...
Gary N. Posted February 12, 2013 #4 Posted February 12, 2013 Our snow is gone again but there's still an inch of salt on the roads. Supposed to stay above freezing daytime temps all week but too much crap on the roads to ride.
