eds Posted September 3, 2011 #1 Posted September 3, 2011 I am trying to run my satellite radio and Garmin GPS off my aux. plug. I purchased a single to double plug but when i connect the GPS the radio's volume goes down to almost zero. I bought a "boostaroo" from Radio Shack which cures the radio problem but now the intereference from engine or ignition is also boosted to the point that the static is untolerable. Any suggestions?
V7Goose Posted September 3, 2011 #2 Posted September 3, 2011 This has been discussed here numerous times (bot not too recently). Here is one thread: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=45560&highlight=input Bottom line is do not do what you are doing without an audio isolator. Goose

MSGTUSMC Posted September 5, 2011 #4 Posted September 5, 2011 (edited) I recently purchased 2005 RSV & no owners manual. It has 2 pin connectors @ left rear fender. One I know is for passenger headset. What is the other for? It is smaller and is a female connector. Possible cd connector or relative to CB? Edited September 5, 2011 by MSGTUSMC wasnt finished
Freebird Posted September 5, 2011 #5 Posted September 5, 2011 You will just have to trace it out to find out. It did not come from the factory. Only the round connector for the headsets would be stock. It could possibly be going to the battery for a charger to plug into. It could also have been added for some heated clothing or something like that. What shape and size is it? The headset jack will be round and I think 7 pin..maybe 5..I don't remember now but you are saying that they are both 2 pin. If so, neither would be for the headset.
MSGTUSMC Posted September 8, 2011 #6 Posted September 8, 2011 One is identical to the front connector (i.e.laying on gas tank.)/is 5 pin connector and is clipped to left side of rear fender. The other is a seven pin connector is is approx. 2/3rds the size of the 5 pin connector. I know the 5 pin connector is factory installed, but dont know what the smaller 7 pin connector is for. It dissappears up under the passenger seat.
