trailer hitch plans

I made my own several years ago. No plans. Hope I don't forget anything because it's been a while. There is a brace that runs between the saddle bag frame work. I removed it and cut a couple of 7 gauge pcs the same shape as the sides. Used a transfer punch to transfer the mounting hole locations to one piece and then used that piece to mark the other on. If I remember right I tapped the mounting holes to the same thread as the original. Then I mounted the pieces where the brace used to be. Then I carefully measured the width of the cross piece and cut a piece of 1 1/2" square tubing to fit. I fitted it in where it was parallel to the ground and welded it in. If anything it needs to tilt up a little so when there is weight on the bike it is parallel. Then I cut another piece of 1 1/2" square tubing 4" long to make a reciever. The tubing needs to be 1/8" and then a 1 1/4" hitch will slip in. I remember I had to grind the internal weld down smooth to get it to go in. I actually never used a factory hitch because I built my single wheel trailer with a 1 1/4" tounge that slipped right in. I was just out looking and noticed I also had to weld 2 small tabs out the back for more mounting holes.
