Hip replacement and the Venture.

I had my right hip replaced and my rt. knee replaced within 6 weeks of each other. I had a sidecar setup at that time but also rode a 2001 venture 2 up. The hip heels up quick compaired to the knee. I would plan on giving the hip a good 6 to 8 weeks heal time before riding.

Now is the best time as you can have a pain free riding season by April.

I just had my left knee replaced 2 weeks ago and plan on riding by march or sooner. This one is healing much quicker and with a lot less pain then the right one did.

Wish I could have done them sooner instead of putting up with the pain.

Go for it in a couple of weeks you will be glad you did it.

I had my right hip replaced in August 2010, 90 days later (per dr's orders) I was riding with no problems. Pushing the bike, holding, riding, high speed, low speed, no problems what so ever.

I was a bit conservative in that I haven't put the bike up on it's main stand yet. Probably won't for quite a while.

I had my right knee replaced on January 3rd 2011 and it is almost flexing enough to start riding again but doc has asked I wait 8 weeks and I will comply with that. But again, I doubt I'll try putting it on the main stand for some time!
