Can anybody compare a 2nd Gen. with a Valkryie

I had a 1981 and 1986 Goldwings, a 1999 Valkryie and now own a 1986 and 1989 Venture Royales.

I really like the "looks" of the 2nd Gen. and wonder how they compare, feel. run. race, against the Valk. Anybody have any direct experiences??? Comments???

Love my 2nd Gen bike. But I have many miles on a Valk and I would have to say in my opinion the 2nd gen is more comfortable but the Valk is without a doubt faster and if my memory serves me right it handles better as well. But I would rather have my venture then the valk.

My Valkyrie TOURER vs. my 06 RSV.

Valk:

  • Lots of heat pouring off the engine onto your shins
  • Quicker
  • 6 carbs to sync vs 4
  • RSV much more comfortable, even with my custom seat and backrest on Valk
  • Drinks more fuel
  • No cruise
  • Hate the drone sound of the stock pipes
  • More fun
  • Foot pegs

RSV still has enough power for me and now I'm in to riding comfort.

wow...

"In rare unanimity, all of our testers picked the Harley as the bike with the most comfortable riding position. The fact that the testers ranged quite a bit in size emphasizes how well the folks in Milwaukee did their homework. The Yamaha ranked a close second."
