I owned five GS Suzuki motorcycles from 1986 thru 2008. Four GS850Gs and my favorite, the GS1100GK. The latter I rode for 9 riding seasons, and sold it in 2008 with 133,000 miles. I still participate in the GSResources website, as I have fond memories of all those GS years. www.thegsresources.com

The GK was my all-time favorite motorcycle. I sometimes regret having sold it, but "the boss" said one bike only -- which is fine, given what a good bike the Venture is.

:thumbsup2: We've got a few folks on this site that have had or still have a GS or two. I'll have to check out that site. Thanks!

As of right now I am fortunate lucky enough to have a boss that is fine with my toys :)

hey chaharly......

i really think you should at your age, start with something a wee bit smaller and lighter for a couple of years, anyway. this is just my opinion. please do not take offense to this. its just a fatherly instinct in me saying this. what ever you decide, wish you a safe and enjoyable life.

i admire your guts, though. :clap2::canada:

Haha, thanks for the concern, my family's been riding the big tourers like that ever since before i was born, so i know my way around them. My first bike was a yamaha 80, then a Honda Helix 250, then a Kawasaki KZ 650, and now my Venture!

Okay, so I am new to this site. I am 16 and ride a 1985 Yamaha Venture Royale. I was just thinking that I am probably one of the youngest kids out there who actually have bought one of these themselves.

If your son or daughter has purchased a Venture, and they're 16 or younger, let me know:080402gudl_prv:

They gave you a license for a big motorcycle at 16? Have to be 18 in Illinois for anything over 150cc.

Unless you take and pass an approved MSF course (in Illinois) and have explicit written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
