3xl Helmet Riders --

Soliciting input from 3XL helmet riders -- for 7 yrs I have had fantastic helmets from ARAI using their V ERY comfortable SIGNET GT in 3XL -- now the SIGNET is no longer made and the replacement (PROFILE) is not being made in 3XL -- any suggestions for alternate full face in 3XL? Thnx, DREBBIN

I use several Helmets from Schuberth and Baehr, also a S1 Carbon and i like them. What i like best is the Sunvisor. Both S1 and R1 have this and it's a huge Improvement as i wear Glasses and can't use Sunshades.

 

Of Course, a bit pricy, but it's my Head, and if i need the Helmet dued to others Mishaps, they will pay for it.

Parts Unlimited carries Suomy 3xl and AFX 3 & 4xl full face helmets. Never expect a helmet to protect you, it was you that bought it. Don't waste your life testing some thing you didn't make.

Spoke with 2 Scuberth dealers -- said that Schuberth is not importing again until JAN 08 -- also, they run 1/2 size smaller than label. Darn it.

Glad to hear from other large-brained people...I just bought a Arai SZM that I like but that is a 3/4 helmet. I have an HJC full face that fits very well but I don't have the model number. I have been frustrated trying to find a helmet that fits well. I wear a 7 5/8 hat. By any size chart that is an XL, maybe an XXL. No way will I get an XXL on this noggin. Let us know what you come up with as I prefer the full face.

i'm sorry to hear that, but if you really want a Schuberth Helmet, i check it out and i would send it over the Pond. Shipping could be handled a lot cheaper than the Standard Rates.

 

The Sizes may be a bit smaller than labeled, but once you broke the Helmet in, it will fit like Glove. I have and have had 4 Schuberth's, i bought the first one to fit me in the Shop only. 3 Months later, i almost could turn it around my Head. That was my bad Judgement and a worse Sales Rep too.

 

Now, on my last Deal, i bought a S1Carbon, Size 57/58 instead of 60/61 which was the first. Got a bit squeezed for 2 Hours, did play with the Inserts a Bit and i am HAPPY now. The Inserts are detacheable and come in different Sizes. If you wear long Hair for first 3 Months of the Season and then move over to a shaved Head, all you need is to buy new Inserts. The Shell and inner Foams stay the same, just the Inserts are different Sizes and, of Course, washable too.

 

But, of Course, you need the Head to fit in a Helmet, a 'Schuberth Head' might not fit to a Arai-Helmet ot to Shoei or HJC and vice versa.
