Guest Deerjunky Posted June 30, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 30, 2007 Hi everyone, I just did the 8,000 mile service in the 06 TD, which included spark plugs. Not a hard job at all. Spark plugs (NGK) that came out were 11/16 socket while the ones going in were 5/16 (Champion). I did not anticipate this, but quickly realized that the cross reference was right although the different socket sizes threw me for a moment. Not big news to the better wrenches on the site, but helpful to me and perhaps someone else. Bike runs great, and the plugs I took out could have remained for several more k's. flb_78 Posted July 13, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 13, 2007 5/16????? so your new spark plugs are just 1/16 larger than 1/4 inch?
mm482 Posted July 14, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 14, 2007 I think the champions are 5/8. Under normal use, the plugs should be good for 20K. I ran my first set 34K and the bike ran fine. I have about 25K on this set. Earl 86 VR 00 RSV
