  1. I'm only 36 and I can't believe how much things have changed since I was in school. Kids having to deal with so many things, "sexual identity", casual drugs, eating disorders, under age sex....it's just crazy. Like you said you can't shield them from everything. It's so difficult to stand on the sidelines though crossing you fingers that they'll make the right decisions.

I have a 7 year old and I have told him on many occasions, you can tell daddy anything, even if you think you will get in trouble, I promise to listen and not react until we have both had time to think about things......so far he has trusted me with that and taken me up on that offer a couple of times. I just pray to God that he'll continue to come to daddy even when he is older with perhaps, much more serious delimmas.....

  2. Mike, I checked with Pekin and they are not in NC.....I've actually got a broker contacting The Lloyds of London. I can't believe this type of policy is so difficult to find. It should be one of the easiest policies for a company to assess their risk and price.....

  3. So I bought my 99 RSV a couple of years ago with a rebuilt title. Since that time we have done a frame up restoration on it. With all the time and money I have wrapped up in meticulously redoing this bike I'm almost afraid to put it on the road without good insurance. I understand agreed value seems to be the best way to go. I wanna know if a deer runs out in front of me and messes up my bike that I'm not going to have to fight an insurance company for what I think is fair (around $8000). I've called just about everyone I can think about... Progressive, Allstate, Hagertys, Chubb, American Modern, GMAC,ect... Any suggestions out there? Keep in mind I bought it with a salvage rebuilt title, but have restored the hell out of it, literally taking the whole bike apart and replacing every little nut, bolt, grommet, and washer to bring it back to as new condition. New paint, gauges mod, lowered, the whole nine yards. Any helpful suggestions will be appreciated. I don't want to bear this risk myself, I want an insurer to.....

  4. Let me be the second to vouch for WildBill. I found him on here through Mike, Bill is amazing. His attention to detail is unmatched. Who better to work on your bike than a retired engineer and skilled mechanic who rides what we ride....

I intend on posting more in a week or two when we have finished the restoration of my bike, you'll find it hard to believe how detailed and how much of a perfectionist WildBill is. He's a helluva guy.....

  6. Hey guys I've got my 99 RSV all apart and I am ready to get it painted. I live in Hickory NC and am looking for someone who would do a good job at a reasonable price. Any suggestions? Also, what in you opinion is a reasonable price to have all the parts painted from a RSV [front fairing, lower fairings, tank, side covers, fenders and saddlebags(not doing the tour pack)]. I want everything sanded and painted back in only one color. So a little help on pricing and any painter suggestions will be appreciated!

    Pics will follow afterwards.......:322:

  7. So just because this is a national forum , I should not share my experiences? I kinda thought that is what forums are all about.... Come on, lighten up. Because my experience was not as good as yours I can't share it? Also, I made a call before making my purchase and did my due diligence, that's the whole reason I feel this way. I was told one thing and they did another, hence my complaint. How I am to know they won't do the same thing to anyone else on this forum. I thought we tried to look out for fellow riders here.....right or wrong?

And the shareholders remark.....folks it's called a sense of humor.

  8. Good to know that most folks on here have had a good experience with M-S.com, but I sure haven't. I spoke to the folks before purchasing and was told that they price match even after the sale if within a reasonable time frame. When I tried to take them up on their offer.....no dice. I think you should honor your promises..... As far as shipping, ease of ordering, yeah all that was easy and my tires arrived quickly. However, if you are going to tell me one thing and do another we will have problems.

By the way sounds like there are a lot of M-S.com shareholders on this site, come on you guys can be honest!

  9. Just had an bad experience with Motorcycle-Superstore.com . I bought a set of Avon Venoms for my 99 RSV. I looked at a couple of different sites I felt like their prices were good, saw their low price guarantee and decided to go ahead and buy. Another user on here afterward suggested checking the prices over at DennisKirk.com and what do you know, they had their rear Venom for $17 less, may not seem like a lot but we ride for 200 miles on that much. So I called M-S.com to get my price match guarantee this morning and they refused.....

Go check it our for yourselves 150/90v-15 at DK.com = $153.43 at M-S.com 169.99. Both offer free shipping. So what's the deal? Motorcycle-Superstore.com will not get any more of my business!:no-no-no:

  10. Now I have a question concerning the intercom system. I have a 99 RSV that I am in the process of taking apart and fixing up....paint, mods, ect.(pics to follow in a few weeks) I have decided to take the tour pack off and just install a sissy bar. Of course with the tour pack off , so is the cb system. Am I correct in assuming since I have taken the cb off the bike I will not have an intercom system, or are they separate systems? I figured I would never use the cb much, and for now I kinda like the look without the tour pack and I can always slip it back on if I need to. Thoughts?

I could see a possible interest in using the intercom to speak back and forth with my son while travelling.....

  11. Ouch you're right Dennis Kirk is $17 cheaper on the rear, but don't have any150/80H-16's for up front......Calling motorcycle superstore Monday morning for my price match.....thanks for the tip.

  12. Joe,

No......just missed the $40 rebate by a few weeks. They have a low price guarantee and after looking around only a little bit I was happy with the price. When my tires came in they came in with a 10% off next purchase coupon too....edit.gif
