  1. Just found out that the 2006 MRSV I am looking at has 61,000 mi on it which is a fair bit but from what I've read here on the site, many of you have way more miles on yours without any major issues. I think I can get this bike for $8K and it's very clean and loaded with options.

Don't worry about the mileage as long as it has been maintained it's just broke in.

  2. I am using my new iPad to view this sight. I keep getting a pop up that suggests using an APP tapatalk. Any idea what this is and is there a benefit to using this app compared to accessing through google. Thanks Rob

  3. Hello all, I am presently looking at possibly purchasing a corbin seat. The seat is about 6 years old but apparently hasnt ever been installed on a bike. The seat presently does not have a backrest and my original seat on my bike does. I know I cant reuse my present backrest and the seller tells me I can purchase a bagrest for the corbin seat which I confirmed with my local dealer. The seller tells me its designed to have a hole cut in it to mount the backrest (this idea scares me). The dealer cant confirm how or if possible to add a backrest. Before I drive 2 hours to look at this I have a couple questions. Do any of you have a corbin seat and ifso do you have a backrest and did you install the backrest after the seat. Thanks Rob

  4. I propose a brainstorming session about everyones thoughts on what engine design/designs, all things being equal (same maintenance care) - (my economics professors favorite saying), are most durable..

I have always been told that opposed cylinders by design are most durable BUT I have also been told that the V design (like Guzzi) are.. :stirthepot:

Hey,,,, its winter and lots of time to ponder... :backinmyday:

    Puc

Oh yea,, this is brainstorming - all thoughts welcome :bighug:

I believe the 2005 midnight rsv is the one your talking about:rotf:

  5. My grandson Shane may be buying the 83 Venture Royale from Steve Neal, SGN, after Steve went a 2nd gen. Shane rode my bike to work a while back and said he liked it. For many of you that may remember, Shane had a very serious crash on his CBR 600 crotch rocket and had very serious leg injuries.

My son Brian has an 86 so that would make three generations. This may be a first on here. :cool10:

I rut proof my truck with it. I take the interor panel off and spray away and the under body including inide the rocker panels.. it work great and will continue to eep for year although i do reapply the undercarriage devery year. half a dozen cans usually each time.
  8. Has anyone else had this happen? It seems that my rear brake pad cover has fallen off somewhere in our travels. Its Yamaha Part # 1NL-25836-00-00 and costs some $25 for a piece of plastic that will likely fall off again. How important is this thing? I assume it keeps dirt and debris out. Not sure how long its been gone. It was there when I checked the pads some 5000km ago. Any comments appreciated. Thanks

If yuou come by my place I will be happy to give you the extra one I have.

  9. "The Bikers Code" reads… Never ride off and leave anyone you rode out with, if they break down you pull over and wait, come hell or high water bikers do not abandon a brother or sister. Remember life is about the journey, the ride, not getting there. You already are there.

And don't just help bikers; show the world that we are better than our image portrays us. Courtesy costs you nothing and it brings honor and respect to the biker nation.

I second that one. As stated you are already there. When were out riding we are in no rush and stop for anyone broke down
