  1. I agree with Bob on this one. I can't, for the life of me, see where the 33 teeth on the ring gear has anything to do with the number of teeth the sensor sees on the pinion, since the ring gear is the DRIVEN gear, not the drive gear.

  2. Good looking scoot! I agree that the seats need to go or be recovered. I do like the seat design, though. Strange how a person would put that kind of money into paint, custom seats, and other things, then let the bike sit and deteriorate.

  3. Any of the Royal Star motors will bolt in. The problem comes with the carbs. The early ones used 28mm carbs and the later ones used 32mm carbs. You will have to make mods to use a motor with the 32mm ones, as the throttle cable are different and the air cleaners won't fit the 96 frame configuration. There may be other problems that I'm not aware of with the carb fitment. I believe the newer motors also used a TCI with a different timing curve. IIRC, a motor from the following bikes is a direct replacement.

  4. Here is a complete kit for $126.95.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/FH020AA-Shindengen-Universal-upgrade-kit-with-free-PVC-wiring-sheathing-/271147003588?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f219eeec4&vxp=mtr

This kit uses the new FH020AA regulator, which is physically the same size as the FH0012a. Shindengen no longer makes the FH0012a regulator, from what I have heard.

According to his listing, he also sells kits that are plug and play, if you ask for them.
