  1. I lost my dad in September and I play "his" song and it gives me comfort... This was one of his favorites and he asked for it to be played at his service...

  2. HEAT is the answer... I had mine up to 100 lbs... I did not go over 100 because of horror stories I read on the Delphi Darksiders Forum of tires blowing up over 100... Put it in front of a Monitor heater my Bro has at his shop with the part of the bead not seated closest to the heat and 20 mins later it popped... You could probably get the same results with a heat gun... Good luck..

  3. Thanks for all the kind words and thoughts... I'll be leaving my home in Waldo, ME in the next couple of weeks and heading down to my Bro's in Kissimmee, FL.. I haven't been on here that much lately but I know I still have friends here.. Most of my internet stuff lately has been on Facebook and Yahoo Instant Messenger... I have a few of you on my Facebook but if I'm missing anyone send me a friend request... Hope to see some of you FL guys while I'm there..

  4. LEAVIN'

I’m packin my bags and I’m loadin up the bike

I know I’m in for the roughest ride of my life

I’ve ridden lots of miles, some in snow and some in rain

But this time it’s different, I’m carryin pain

I’m leavin a place for twenty years we called home

But the kids are all older now so Daddy can roam

For twenty five years my kids were my life

Leavin them now cuts like a knife

I can’t come back to this home any more

I know it will be hard walkin out that door

I’m sure that I need this and I hafta cowboy up

But I know it’ll be hard sayin bye to the pup

I’ll try to hold my tears when I say my good byes

It’s hard ridin your bike with tears in your eyes

I gotta be strong and I know that this is right

I’ll make it down the road and cry out of sight

Someone from above is showing me the way

Not sure who it is but I know I gotta pray

I hope I can find out who is my spiritual guide

I came close before and it was during a ride

Maybe while I ride it will all come to me clear

All my questions will be answered and I’ll have no fear

Only then can I come back to my Dear Sweet Jayne

Who I know my leaving is causing her pain

But I need to get stronger for Jaynie and Sean

Hooking up when I’m weak just seems to be wrong

I need to work out some stuff and to get my **** together

And to give our love a chance at forever and ever

I pray that my path is straight and true

And then Baby I’ll come straight back to you

  5. I fully expect to get 35k-40k miles out of my $57 investment.

I think you expectations might be a little high... I got 19K out of my 1st Kumho but that was a lot of trailer towing and included CA grooved roads... Good luck with it...

  6. I'm on my second car tire and i did a 14k mile trip pulling my piggybacker this year... Here's my take on this... The only wagging problem I had was one time when I was not running a car tire but an Avon Venom and I had too much weight in the back not too little tongue weight... I only moved my laptop from behind the wheels to over the trailer wheels... i hardly added any weight to the tongue but took away 30 lbs from behind the trailer wheels... no more sway...

The answer is not "Not enough tongue weight" But "Too much weight behind the trailer wheels"

  7. IMHO... There's nothing wrong with the Dunlop 404s I ran about 5 sets of them with an average of 12K miles... They're the cheapest tire out there so you can afford to swap them out as a set... i got about 1 1/2 rears to every front then started doing sets... Most available and handle good..

I had one set of Avons got lousy mileage 7500.. Hated them on wet roads.. will never buy them again..

I had 1 set of Elite 3s.. Got 14K out of the rear... still running the front... These handle well on dry and wet roads but I don't think they're worth almost double the price of the 404s for a few extra miles..

At 103K I just installed my 2nd car tire a Kumho Powerstar 758 165/80R-15... I got 19K out of the last one with the majority pulling a trailer... It handles well, and rides better than any MC tire... While running my 1st Radial CT I also ran a Bridgestone Radial front 150/80R-16 (I know I Know Bridgestones suck but the Vulcan 2000 guys loved them and I thought they're radials might be different) The Bridgestone were fine but wore out funny and were never run low... I think I'll try a Dunlop Radial on the front... I think it's a K-251... It's made for a Vulcan 2000 and the load range is a little lower but it's close and those V-2 are heavy too.

  8. I thought being grumpy was the norm for folks from Maine.:rotf:

Boomer........who has no use for them darn Maine black fly's.:shock3:

ps: Hey Mark.... I and a bunch of other Combat Vets are planning a Regional Meet at Sugarloaf for next September. Are you close by to that area? We could meet up if so!:cool10:

What flatlandahs call grumpy we call funny... Besides I'm a transplanted M@ssh0le but don't tell anybody or I'll have to kill ya...

Next Sept... Your gonna hafta keep me posted on that... I don't know what I'm doin next weekend nevermind next Sept.

  9. Everything's changed since March... Did a job with 160 ATMs to reprogram in GA, AL, and CA and squeezed in 3 weeks in FL including Daytona Bike Week and a few days in the Keys where me and my Bro partied like it was 1978 and did some snorkeling out on the Coral Reef.. I also did a day at The Laughlin River Run but it was 105 and no shade trees and the heat was starting to get to me and got to Leesburg Bikefest on the same weekend..

Anyways while riding through the desert on a bike with no name.. I did some soul searching and asked God to show me a sign that he exists... I get home and the Ol'Lady tells me she's moving to NH and that she wants a Divorce after 25 years (she's been talkin about it for like 3 years) ... I said "Yes!!! there is a God!!!" (I even went to church today for the 1st time in a long time) Then... I meet this hot sexy little 43 yo nurse down in NH.. Well you get the idea... Let's just say she restored my faith in womanhood and I now know that all women are not evil... Some are actually quite sweet...

Ok I also dropped a lot of weight... I used to be 333 (or maybe that's as high as my scale went) and I'm down to 259 and shooting for 210 and I've cleaned up my act some... I'm also a happier person (some people here will be glad to hear that... ulessed there so pissed at me they won't even read this)... and other than a Stevie Wonder blind joke that rubbed me the wrong way (especially while or Founder is dealing with a potential loss of sight)... I think I've been pretty chilled here... For the record Stevie played at my High School in 1974 when I was a Junior during school we had an assembly and there was Stevie and a piano playing "Very Supersticious" and about 10 other songs and it was awesome... I wasn't even a big SW fan at the time but I was amazed a guy could be so talented while overcoming a handicap that I'm glad I don't have... Needless to say I became a big fan..

Well if anyone's still reading this drivel.. I've met some good people on this site and look forward to seeing them again... At the risk of sounding too cornball like some of the threads I poke fun at...
