  1. You might be better off buying a harley king tour pack and mount that on the venture rack to your rstd like I did. have it painted to match your bike and it opens from the side and is bigger than the venture trunk. I added leds on the back and sides of the trunk and it came with a luggage rack which is nice too. Check out my bike.

  2. When I travel with my bike I always keep a small cloth and wet it and use that to loosen things up on the windsheild then use a microfiber towel to wipe it off and that cleans as good as anything and you only pay for the microfiber cloth and just keep it clean and it works great on the whole bike especially chrome. No need for any cleaners or waxes. I keep one in all of my vehicles for inside windows and cleaning the dash since dust clings to the fibers. Try it!

  3. I am a lifetime member with Sirius which was a great deal. I switched to using the cassette function instead of tuning into to a local channel which is the best. I only listen to a few channels and like the sports and headline news sometimes in the morning plus when I'm home I can listen to sirius on my computer but just music on the computer no sports.

  4. I have an 06 RSTD and found a harley king tour pack that fits great and is bigger than a venture tour pack and easier to find on ebay. It's great to have everything locked and out of the weather on a trip and if I want to take more I have a bag that fits onto the luggage rack on top of the trunk that works great also. Plus, it's nice when you ride around town to take the windsheild off when you want and enjoy that which I never thought I would. Check out my photos and good luck,

  5. Ok I agree with the pledge but........I use a spray bottle with water and spray a fine mist over whatever I want to clean and let it sit a few minutes and then with a good micro fiber towel I just wipe everything off and looks brand new. Total cost is the price of a good spray bottle. I found a mit made of micro fiber that works even better and if anyone wants one I have the website.. To polish engine bolts I clean them on the grinder and then use a Cape Cod Polishing cloth that is amazing. Makes them shine like chrome. Also used that cloth to polish my axle on my vulcan with chrome like results and the clutch and brake levers.

  6. I also have a sheepskin on top of my custom made seat and it is comfortable. You need to clean them to keep them in good shape(just like your bike) and you can brush them out too. They do just what David said above me and do it well. I don't have a px but will put one up soon. I found a white one which goes with my bike and found it at an intersection where they had a truck parked and were selling them. I traded the guy a couple of my cds and $15 which sounds good to me. I've also used it on my Vulcan classic when that was the only bike I had. I get a few wise cracks once in a while but doesn't bother me. I put it in my trunk if I'm out.

  7. You might want to check out using a harley king tour pak which will still fit on the venture rack. It is cheaper, easier to find one(on ebay), is larger (holds more than venture trunk), and opens from the side plus you can add leds to the sides and rear and still use a luggage rack on top. I know all of this because I did this to my 2006 RSTD and love it. Good luck!

  8. Thanks for the pxs especially since I was riding behind you and was in a lot of them. I think it's been great being at both of these M&E and sitting next to different folks each time and meeting new people. I'm playing a concert on the 23rd of this month in the Historic Theatre in Canton, GA. Feel free to ride up. I have plenty of room at my house in woodstock and I'm off this month in case any of you have free ridin time. I rode with Terry and 2 of his friends sunday in the wind and was fun!

Can't wait for the next one.

  9. I'm getting ready to get rid of my bridgstones. They moan and I don't think they handle all that great and I didn't get that good of mileage on them. Question is when should I replace brake pads. I've got close to 6000 miles on the bike and with the new tires I could get at least 6k or more. Any advice here?

    Thanks,

    Bob
