  1. I have the Hoppe fairing on my RSTD and really like it. If you want to detach it's not a big deal. Got mine on Craig's list from a fellow who wrecked his bike but fairing was still good and he upgraded everything so I got a great deal at $900 which included the shipping. I have the usb port so I listen to my ipod mostly but it has sirius,cd player and of course radio but who listens to radio anymore, and I have the 12v. plug too. Have pxs on my profile.

  2. I also added the Hoppe Fairing and love it but will have to wait to use the bike since I was in an accident but the crash bars seemed to save the bike from a lot more damage than could have been I got it off Craig's list from a guy in Fresno who had it on his tour deluxe and he upgraded the stereo, speakers.added sirius radio ,usb port, cd player, and 12v plug all for $900. Has 4 woofers and 4 tweeters. Had it painted to match my bike so bike is near the way I want it when I get it back together. I am ok also except for a lot of bruises from being thrown 10 feet and then hitting a wall and sliding 16 feet. I learned all of this from reading the accident report since I was knocked unconscious and suffered a concussion. Had full helmet which doctor said saved my life and full leathers so no scrapes on my skin.

  3. Don't have pics yet but a lady hit me from behind yesterday and I wasn't stopped either and doctor said my helmet saved my life and jacket and chaps helped a lot too. No broken bones but was unconcsious for maybe a half an hour and woke up in the ambulance but home now and very sore. Haven' seen the bike yet.

Helmets DO save lives along with the grace of GOD!

  4. I bought the Tourmaster synergy heated jacket liner and gloves and was the best thing I did for riding on days like these. They have separate controls or you can plug the gloves into the jacket. All you have to do is take off the seat and wire the pigtail to your battery. I was sold on those when a friend of mine let me try his. I bought the leather heated gloves.

As far as something new for me I'd like the Hoppe industries batwing quick release fairing.

    and chromed front forks.

  5. Great weather day here in Atlanta(actually Woodstock,GA) temps in mid to upper 60's but I'm still recovering from a broken back that I got while riding my 4-wheeler over labor day. Should have stayed on 2 wheels. I did some fine tooth cleaning today with the garage door open wishing I was riding!

  6. I had the same problem with 2 bolts on one bag and worked the vise grips. Just put the grip right up against the bag and make it as tight as you can. All you need is a slight turn and it loosens. It slipped off a couple of times but persistence paid off and now it won't happen again. Also try grinding your allen wrench down since it will be rounded off from the stripped head of the bolt. This helped me on a couple other bolts.

  7. I've never heard anything good about motions in Marietta. I've had several friends say not good things about them. I got my RSTD in Roswell but the folks in Canton are good and the Ride Shop in woodstock off Bells Ferry is good. I check my tires but will be putting nitrogen in soon to see if that keeps the pressure the same as it does on my truck.

  8. I also got the quick release bolts from R-Mark and they are great. Can take the bag off in less than a minute and go try to find all of those parts and do it yourself. Usually have to buy large quantities IF you can find them. Bought them on ebay received them in no time and installed them in no time. Job done. Thanks Mark. Going to order a set for a friend for Christmas gift.

  9. I've had nitrogen in my 2000 silverado for the entire time the tires were on and got over 80,000 miles. I had the tires rotated only once so they may have refilled them but checking them usually during the season changes and there never was a change in pressure. The tires wore great and not until I developed a slow leak in one tire about 4 months ago did the pressure change but only in that tire. I don't think I got better gas mileage but the hassle free maintenance of not worrying about pressure is great. Costco will fill my tires for $4 each which I can afford and I'll see if that works the same as my P/U.
