  1. I know your pain. I got all my Dad's mother's things, Dad's things, and Mom's things and still need a house to hold it all. When my inlaws die they expect us to take their possessions too. None of which are our taste. And with all the things we have now we won't have room to take on more. So feelings would get hurt if they knew.

  2. Ow! And I thought I was prone to those weird accidents when I break something. I broke a toe walking through the house. And I broke my right leg tripping over a wheelchair ramp in an unlit parking lot after dark.

  3. Either works for us, if we get to go. Our 15yr old cat has to travel with us and we have to find cat friendly arrangements for her if we go. Friends should be able to look after the other goofy cat while we would be out of town. Right now the only cat friendly arrangements I can find are in Helen, not sure it's worth it to attempt to travel with her this year so we might bow out and hope there in another Vogel in 2 years.

  4. Mike and I have a couple of friends that live in East Tawas Michigan. They have been going through a VERY rough time. The wife/SO has been dealing with a bunch of chronic illnesses for years, Ankylosing Spondylitis, fibro, and things related. She's been sick a long time before getting a proper diagnosis. And during all this she had a family, 2 wonderful, handful boys, who are autistic. Her husband had to recently quit working to stay home and take care of her and the kids because most days she needs help getting up from bed. She just turned 30 btw.

    Since I don't know what services are available to them there, what options are there for getting the rent money and any help they need? She says they don't qualify for foodstamps and such so I'm not sure where to point her. Her SO would love to work as would she, but she's been too sick to work and trying to get on disability these last few years has been a joke. Not trying to hold a fundraiser, just trying to find her the services she needs to not have her and the kids tossed on the streets.

  5. First, Mike and I are fine. The storms never got too bad here in Macon. However the news in South Central and Southwest Georgia is not good. At least 15 people have died between Saturday night and Sunday evening between Albany Ga to a bit North of Valdosta Ga from tornadoes that swept through the area between Saturday and Sunday afternoon. I know at least 2 ppl died in Mississippi, and not sure of the state of Alabama. We are having extremely unusual weather for winter here. This is more like April/May weather. Hoping everyone on the forums is safe. Please let us know if you live in the storm areas that you are safe.

  6. I presume you had gastric bypass? If you did, welcome to the club, I did it 2 yrs ago, and there's a lot of schools of thought in the medical community. My doc is strict, no bread, no pasta, no rice, low fat, low carbs, small portions. But other friends with different surgeons have different schools of thoughts, some allow bread and pasta and rice. Let me know when you want to try cauliflower pizza, I have an awesome recipe for it.

  7. That means I would be helping the global warming out bringing them along!!! :bang head: My two younger ones love the bike and William heck he wants to ride everyone he see's we go to the annual blessing of the bike's here in town, Plus every time we go by a bike shop he wants to stop just to look at all the bikes. So I don't mind taking them but Sissy gets a little off key around a bunch of people. Which I am trying to figure out how to help her with that. She don't act out or nothing she kind of shuts down. Now as far as helping Global Warming, Wow that Tahoe gets crappy gas mileage.. and pulling a trailer with the Bike on it. I had thought about that tho, I am only good for one tank of gas a day on the bike, I did something a while back while working at a chicken plant here in town. Messed my wrist up bad:doh: I guess that will teach me for listening to there nurse and returning to dumping tubs of chicken after he gave me an elastic wrist support.:bang head: If I can be at some I will be there, But now I want to go just to see the bears.

    I have 2 autistic kids and I was either a mile a min kid or shutdown around folks. My husband is the introvert who also shuts down in crowds but likes Vogel. It's the people there. She could do well there. Even my autistic kids who don't do well with strangers feel safe around them and want to be with the people. It's a different crowd there.

  8. ^^^ VR NORMALCY DEFINED!! ^^^[emoji481]:happy65::happy34:

    I will never forget the time Tip n I went in search of a Vogel.. We headed out CTFW on Tweeks with the purpose of answering 2 pertinent questions:

    1. What exactly is a Vogel.

    2. Are there actual people behind the screen names found here on VR or was there just one person doing all the activity on the site (I long since wondered if Freebird had just created a list of screen names and was solely responsible for all the responses associated with the names.)..

    That trip was successful on both accounts. We found a Vogel and learned that real - normal (as defined by Sir Bongo above) lop eared people varmints are actually attached to those screen names.. I even found the depth of Bongo's definition when a young man named YammerDan looked at me and said = I'm not YammerDan and I KNEW I had just met YammerDan = NO confusion there on anyone's part for sure!!!!!!:178:

    Cowpuc met me on that trip lol I have the pics to prove it!
