  1. Thanks guys,

I found some Honda polish at the local yamaha/Honda dealer for about 6 bucks, they also had some labeled yamaha polish, but it was a dollar more, so I didn't get it.

The guy I bought my bike from gave me a can of showtime which he distributes for 12 bucks a can. It works great, but too expensive. The Honda polish works great. Thanks again.

    Mel:thumbsup2:

  2. I just posted this on another thread, because we were comparing bikes.

I am 52 and am insured with Allstate. My insurance is full coverage with a $250 deductable

and It's only $75 per year. The same year ultra would be for me $237 and the same year goldwing would be about $155:thumbsup2:

  3. something else I have not seen mentioned is insurance rates. I just checked with allstate and the same coverage for the same year ultra would be over 3 times the rate for the RSV.

I pay $75 per year and the harley would be $237.

The goldwing would be about $155.:thumbsup2:

  4. [Now the resale on a Harley is MUCH better then that on a Venture. So if your not sure buy a Harley and if you don't like it sell it and buy a Venture that way you won't loos as much as if you went the other way around.

I had to chime in on this one.

I have a 06 black cherry Venture that I bought last year for $9800 with 19k miles, the person I bought it from bought it brand new for $14500 and had it 4 years, it is in excellent condition.

I went and looked at an 06' black cherry Ultra the other day with 12k miles the guy had bought it for $30000 with all the accessories. He was also throwing in helmets and intercom.

at 10k miles he paid $1500 for maintenance. He was asking $15500 for it. It too is in excellent condition. I could ride my venture for a year and throw it away and still be better off.

  5. Wait a minute....you said that you bike's speedo is reading SLOW? That is opposite of most. Every one I've ever seen reads fast. In other words....the speedo will show that you are traveling maybe 70 MPH while you are actually only going about 65.

You're right, the bike reads 70 when i am actually going 65

  6. I have on ly had my 06' venture for a week. Today I put my Garmin gps on and went for a ride(I know my Garmins speedo is accurate) It showed anywhere between 3 and 5 mph to slow, it also is jittery instead of smooth, like a real needle would be. Any suggestions.
