  1. In English Please!

    I'd also like to see someone build a ST bike for short people. There isn't, and so far as I know hasn't, been a ST bike with a less than 32in seat height made in the last 10+ years. I have a 28in inseam. I can't even ride a stock Venture flatfooted. If I mount the Mustang seats on my RSTC, I can't flatfoot it either! Fortunately I have a set of "Butlerized" seats for both my RSV trike and the RSTC. Are you still out there Rick? I've got another seat I'd like you to do!:sign67:

    Now come on Duey,,, you KNEW this was gonna get a :scared: out of me didn't cha:missingtooth::big-grin-emoticon::thumbsup:

    Duey's a :stirthepot:,, Duey's a :stirthepot:,, Duey's :witch_brew::hihi:

    Tell ya what brother,,, I been REALLY enjoying the winter (excluding the VIRUS stuff).. You been following the Indian Challenger stuff taking place too?? Just CRAZY!!

    So, 2018,, Mom Yam gets a good solid :thumbsup: from all her past touring riders saying "we want air cooled, push rod, V-Twin big block torque,, neutured to under 5250 R's so no hp,, 70 hp is fine" in the new one soo she builds it...

    HD, the mother of all air cooled, push rod V-Twin tourers had attempted a valiant shot at water cooling in a fine OHC engine in their high torque/high HP V-Rod and it fell flat on its face in sales so one can only wonder if Mom Yam wasn't getting reinforcement on her findings of the polling she did on those in the Yamaha touring know from that HD experience.. Of course,, you know cause you were here on VR,, all of us V-4 riders were wanting the big block 1700cc V-4 and were standing inline waiting for Mom Yam to actually turn the touring world upside down like she promised with a Beemer stomping 175 HP/160 ft/pds torque scoot = did we need it? nooo but did we want it,, ohhhhh yea LOL.. Now, 2 years after the unveiling of the new Yam,,, those left over SVTC's and Eluders are still sitting on showroom floors bringing back some not to distant memories of the V-Rods sitting in HD shops = what on earth... Sales are/have been flat line, last I checked a new SVTC could be had for under 17 large and an Eluder for 14.

    Along comes Polaris.. They see a gap and go for it.. They build a water cooled, OHC V-Twin that dumps out 120 HP,, all about performance,,,, they name it the Challenger.. They stuff a fixed fairing on it,, sort of looks like a Road Glide.. Seems those things are growing feet like centipedes at the dealerships that can get em.. I truly think if Mom Yam would take a 3rd Gen,, pull the Twin,, open up the fake lowers and make those upper loovers functional with Rads behind them, drop in a 1700cc V-max mtr tuned a little for torque,,maybe.. Shaft drive it... Offer both the Twin and the V-4... Thinking that would be gold and bold..

    THANKS DUEY,,,OL' PUC NEEDED THAT!! :big-grin-emoticon:

  2. I used to have a mare that thought the hubby was the greatest thing since carrots. She'd follow him around, insist he pay attention to her and ONLY her. She wasn't very high up in the herd pecking order but that would change if he was around. She even got jealous of her own foal getting attention from him. Feeding time was especially fun as I'd be putting out the feed buckets and if the hubby was around, she'd have a time trying to decide if it was more important getting him to pet her or eating!

  3. Hail to our fearless leader and all of the other bike nuts out there! :biker:

    Well, I'm still among the living. I've spent so much time up in Illinois in the last two years taking care of family, I was only home about 4 months out of that time. I got bike fever so bad while I was there that I added to my collection by buying a 2006 Suzuki Burgman 400. Partly to have something to ride and partly to have something small enough to carry on the motorcycle hitch rack I'm planning on mounting on the back of an RV so I don't have to pull a trailer to have a bike along. The 400 has enough get up n go to do highway [ I actually have to watch myself on it! ] so not more than the usual "look out for the cagers" worrying when I'm on it.

    I still have B2Dad's '08 trike but it's been sitting at home while I was gone. Before anybody gets up in arms about it, the bike starts just fine and I rode it whenever I got to go home for a bit. I keep Seafoam in all of my gas tanks to prevent the problems that grounded my RSTC. The hubby passed away the end of June so I'm on my own these days, but I plan to go ahead with some of the stuff that we had planned to do so some of you may get to see me running around the country every so often. I've also added a 4 legged friend to the collection. Her name is Andromeda, aka "Andi", a just turned one year old German Shepherd who is living proof of two of the GSD's nicknames, German Shedders [black hair everywhere] and German Shredders [bits and pieces of everything she can get her teeth into!]. :sign67:

  4. Since this seems to be the latest gathering of the gun nuts on here, I thought I'd add my two cents worth :2cents: and ask a question or two. On the derringer, is that part of the Judge line? A friend of mine has one of the revolvers and just loves it. She especially likes the variety of "self protection" rounds and has fired both the .410 and 45 cal rounds out of it. In .45 it kicks like a mule but she loves the "nice big holes" it makes. Like me, she spends a good deal of time on the road by herself [her kids are all over the country] and does not like to travel without it.

    I had a Walther PK380. Neat gun and one of the easiest autos to use, something I have to watch as my hands don't like the amount of work it takes to operate most slides. We had a house fire about 2 years ago and the Walther got cooked [managed to save my 22 rifle tho!]. I've spent so much time the last two years away from home, I haven't been able to replace it. I've started looking again to see what's out there. Not a lot of places carry my gun so I've been checking to see what else is available. One gun I was offered is the S&W .380 EZ. Anybody have this? Supposedly designed specifically for folks who have hand problems as I do. I will be checking into it. Any other suggestions from the crew? :scratchchin:

  5. Sounds neat, but maybe by then I will have a project to work on.

    IF I ever get to go home and get that damn title you will!! Too bad you aren't closer to me. I'd let you work on the RSTC in exchange for the 650.

  6. Anyone in this part of the country knows Audrey Menarik of Moto Liberty in Dallas. She posted this on Facebook yesterday.

    Motorcycle friends.... NEWSFLASH! I am going to host a Motorcycle Show. It is called The Motorcycle Camping and Adventure Touring Show, and it will be held in Lewsiville at the convention center, December 15th & 16th. Why am I doing this when I already have two full time jobs? Because the motorcycle business has been tough. After much contemplation, I think people still want to ride their motorcycles, but they don't want to ride on busy city streets. So, let's all find fun ways to get the hell out of Dodge... get back to what motorcycling is supposed to be about and hit the open road! Sleep under the stars.... (or not). But DFW motorcycle dealers are all on board for this LOCAL show, that will support LOCAL shops. It's not only about the guy that spends 30K on his BMW to head to Alaska. It's also about the college students that can strap a tent to the back of their bikes and ride to the KOA Campground. I've got lots of plans for educational, informative and fun presentations. And, we'll be camping Saturday night at Lake Lewisville to practice what we preach. I'm only a week into this project, so gimme a few weeks for more details, but as my friends... I wanted you to be the first to know. (And perhaps the first to volunteer to help!) :) Have a great Labor Day weekend! Audrey (P.S. Feel free to share with friends who may be interested in exhibiting or attending.)

    I've never been able to attend one of her lil shindigs as Dallas is just too far for me to do a day trip but I will try to attend this even if I have to leave the bike behind and haul my travel trailer up there instead!! :happy65::happy65:

  7. I know what you mean! I'd trike the the Valk as well. One of my favorite bikes has always been the Valkyrie Interstate ever since I first spotted one up in Illinois a few years back and followed it to find out what the heck it was. I even asked the guys what it would cost to convert that maroon lovely into one. I'm also curious as to what the blue one that is still coming looks like. I have to go back down there in about two weeks so I may just get to find out. :happy65:

    I absolutely LOVE the Valkyrie and would love to own one, but like you, I already have my RSV trike...
  8. I made a run yesterday down to Katy, Texas. Time for some semi serious shopping [new house] and to see what else I could find. One of my regular stops when I make this trip is WildWest Motorsports [aka WildWest Honda, aka Katy Honda] hoping to pick up a copy of the owner's manual for my Honda Rancher. I spent some time talking to one of the guys about the SV and if/when Yamaha would get any more out [they're the local Yam. dealer as well] when I was shown some of their latest acquisitions. VERY Interesting!! Seems the outfit pulled a raid on Honda's warehouse and bought a large number [i was told 30] of new/old stock. If anyone is interested they now have a collection of '14, '15, thereabouts Honda 250 Rebels and CBR300's, fresh out of the crate, all of which are priced at $3K. What had me coming down with a serious case of wishful thinking was a pair of Valkyries. A 2014 black and [my personal favorite] a gorgeous 2015 maroon red. Like the smaller bikes, these are crate fresh. Listed price $10K!! If I didn't already have my trike, I'd be figuring out ways to buy the red one as that is likely the only way I'd ever get a bike with the GW engine in it unless it was triked. There's a third one, blue version, coming in as well.

    Also, I also made my first stop at the Katy Buc-ee's which is one of their newest. For those not familiar with these, they are "convenience store/gas stations" scattered around north, central and southern Texas. Calling most of them "convenience stores" is a massive understatement. This one is huge. Restaurant, bakery, clothing, jewelry, picnic/camping supplies, stuffed beavers [their "mascot"], etc., they have to be seen to be believed. Typical Buc-ee's, no 18 wheelers allowed even though the end set of pumps is diesel/DEF only. The thing that got my attention was going by the pumps which have 3 pump handles, diesel, ethanol gas, and non ethanol gas. The attention getter was that one pump island in each row had regular 87 octane non ethanol and the other had premium 92! Not cheap tho as the 87 was $1+ higher than the ethanol gas and the 92 was even higher. So anyone who like to buy theirs "straight", you now know where to look!

  9. As for Larry's [CarbonOne] stuff, I have two of his lift adaptors and have seen a third in action, all different models. The adaptors for the RSVs and RSTCs are not the same. We found that out the first time we tried using a RSV adaptor on my RSTC! If Larry is still doing his thing [he also made the aux gas tank for my RSV trike], and someone could get one of the new bikes over to him, I've no doubt he could come up with something to handle the problem. With one of his adaptors, all you need is a standard motorcycle jack. The lift platform is not needed. And on checking the oil, the block under the side stand works for me as well. I've also been known to ride the bike/s up onto one of my flatbed trailers [would you believe I have 3 at the moment] and put the bike in crossties so it stands level and check everything that way. Also great for cleaning spots that are hard to get at when the bike is on the side stand :biker:.

  10. Providing of course, that they let the shyster know when the next court date is since he apparently didn't know about the last one!! Also possibility that, if he's working for the other side, to get certain persons to back off on their attempts to help him. From what you've been saying, I wouldn't put anything past that bunch. :scratchchin:

    GREAT NEWS!!!!

    Lil Brother met with Shyster today!!! 1st time since he was appointed!!! Shyster said..... I'm sorry this has taken so long. You should never have been in here this long. I promise next court date things will be different. You won't be in here that much longer!!! I haven't got to talk to Lil Brother yet got this info from wife. He is in jail and access to phone limited. Not sure what is going on but she is sure excited! I might be just a little.

  11. She has called a bunch of times and he just doesn't answer. Makes me think he was expecting a call and just picked it up without looking or something. They added the Destruction of Property and Assault charges this time. They weren't on there before. As I said Boss Hogg could take lessons from these Retards.

    Firm, Fair & Equal....:banana::banana:

    Have her call using someone else's phone, preferably with them present and the phone on speaker. If possible, make it another lawyer. If he's using caller id, he might not catch the switch. As for the other charges, they're "wallpapering" him. Throw enough stuff at him and hope something will stick. Not exactly an uncommon practice but it makes you wonder if they think the main charge is weak and they want to get him on something, even if it isn't M1. :scratchchin:

  12. His wife called the shyster ( He answered the phone!!) he has and he claims he knew nothing about it???? Something sure smells!!

    Makes you wonder just who actually appointed that particular lawyer! And just how much attention he is paying to the case?? SOP as I understand it is the defense attorney has to be notified on any and all changes to the case. As for his wife talking to him, wanna bet the next call won't get answered?

  13. In California it's considered a trailer... just attached differently... and so does Geico so no increase in premium.., and in that regard a MC indorsement on your drivers license isn't needed when riding a Voyager Trike Kit because the DMV thinks it's a trike... Just like a 3 wheel conversion.. Life's too short to get our knickers in a twist about terminology. :icon_lurker::fnd_(16):

    So my '08 with the Hannigan kit on it means I wouldn't need the MC on my DL? At least in California?? Anywhere else that's legal? Since the hubby can't be bothered to get his MC, at least he could drive the trike because he's too darn big [or should I say fat!] to fit in the pillon seat! :biker:

  14. Got a call from him. Some idiot came thru the jail with the family of the Puke's side of the story. He didn't care much for it. According to them Lil brother chased them for miles on a 4-wheeler to get his one shot at them. They were in a full sized Chevy truck. Sitting on a 4-wheeler shooting into a full sized truck and hitting two of them?? Brother must be about 9 ft tall and I'm a good bit taller than him!! It is a mess.

    My usual "Interesting!" How can a man who's been blinded, ride an ATV at speed, one handed, firing a gun, and still manage to keep up with a full sized truck much less hit something?

    :scratchchin:
