  1. I guess Frebird is aging just like the rest of us. My 02 goes up for sale this spring. I won't be riding big bikes anymore but maybe something much smaller. I started this obsession in 1959 with a Cushman turtle back. Could not remember all the bikes but what stands out in my mind are: Noton 750 Commando, Honda 305 Scrambler, Maico 400, a hand full of Triumph Bonneviles, BSA 446, Cushman Silver Eagle, a couple chopped Harleys, Ariel Square Four and so msny more. Another thing that comes with age is reminissing.

  2. Well I didn't buy the truck, as much as I liked it the same info came to me from a local garage that was in the video. Stay away from this model 2005 to 2010. The owner did tell me that the top end was re-done, so enough for me. I am thinking that my 96 F150 is worth rebuilding and I know what I have is all good. I always like the looks of the square Ford pickups. Thanks for the input fellows.

  3. After talking in depth with the owner (original) the engine has had the top end rebuilt and the transmission rebuilt. He has a construction business with seven more Chevy trucks some having 400k. A real honest gentleman and he drove this truck.

  4. Looking for input on a 2007 Chevy Silverado1500 LTZ crewcab. Local private seller has one with 290k miles. Very nice looking with nice leather interior. I have always been a Ford person but this is pretty nice. My 96 F150 has 260k on the odo so the mileage is not an issue since I need to either put an engine in the Ford or Chevy. I know nothing about Chevy engines so any help is appreciated.

  5. should be called DJ {Dairy Jester} instead of DQ. I miss the old Tasty Freeze places at least they used real ice cream. Sad how big chains with poor quality always seems to replace good quality.

WHAT...they don't use REAL ice cream?:fnd_(16)::whistling::essen_024::Sad_0241::cry: I am so sad.

  6. It does take some special learning tactics and extra special attention to detail to follow me at times don't it my eternal brother :stirthepot::happy34:!! Soo glad you are figuring it out Sly!! :guitarist 2:

Mom Yam,, if you are attempting to follow this,, Sly brings up a VERY serious note/point here.. We aint talking about no moped powered scoot (although I do love my mopeds),, we are talking SERIOUS motovational Hybrid power... Trooper has a 38kw electric motor that yields 126 ft/pds of torque right off the line, combined with his 1600cc 4 cylinder engine he gets a total yield of 140 horse power. Sport mode on the tranny will launch him from a dead stop REAL worthy like.. Normal mode on the tranny will yield +50 mpg at a steady +100 mph (Troops cruise control will still set at 117 mph - maybe beyond but that is as fast as I have ran him).

Sly (and Mom Yam),, I am thinking a similar arrangement on a full blown, CTFW, touring scoot.. No reason why not IMHO.. Maybe drop the 1600cc engine for a smaller 1200cc V-4 (I am a lop eared old school varmint still stuck on the V-4 bike platform :stirthepot::178::confused24:) like our original MK 1's had. Troops red line is set at 5500,,, the range where our bikes are just getting started in developing some serious HP,,, Mom Yam = using the tiny little (by todays standards) V-4 - you could use the healthy electric torque for a hard hitting linear launch then engage the V-4 when needed and rev limit it at 8 grand.. Another thought for some REAL excitement would be to wrap the project around a Liter bike engine like CaseyJ955 and I been :Im not listening to about :scared:.. Tiny little 1000cc engine producing +150 horse and let the electric motor handle any deminished torque needs lost to ICE displacement ...

Actually Sly,,, I am (see if you can follow this) talking about a package that slays in all arena's = MPG and performance.. A real game changer as it were!!

I don't think you or I have enough years left to manufacture one. So that leaves the MC companies to built it and I don't know if I have enough years left to ever see one. :bang head::no-no-no::backinmyday:

  7. The trigger pull on the one I checked was short and very smooth. impressed with it as many other makes / brands had much stiffer & long pulls. I'll be going to a gun show this weekend and see if I can score a decent deal on one.

I bought one from a local dealer during a flash sale in August (probably a S&W promotion). I paid $339.95 They are $459.95 now on a good day. I really like it but I have a Bersa Pro 9 that I like better.
