  1. Thought i would throw up a couple recent pics of my 2006. Just got back from Charleston SC and back to Columbus. Stopped off and did the tail 129 like usual. Cheers
  2. Hey yall....i wanted to report back i just took a 2400 mile trip. Its still sloppy but i put in a new clutch and run semi-syn with lucas oil additive. Seems much smoother. I think i am going to pull it again this winter and get a clutch basket.
  3. I had an absolute nightmare with this. I do have my pipes wrapped. I went to JEGS and got a clamp for it(band clamp). I ended up using heat wrap on the inside and outside of pipe and tightened the crap out of it. No leaks! You may want to close off your AIS system as well....stopped my backfiring completely.
  4. I wouldnt mess around with it.....if you can shell out the 250-300 for the new shock i would do it. that thing is a GIANT piece of ****. I had to replace mine last summer in 90 degree heat in Charleston SC because the fluid decided to explode in my storage unit. Search this forum. There are other shocks you can buy as well!
  5. The bike is almost back together. Ill post up some pics n such. I added some lucas oil additive. I will run and see what happens with this transmission.
  6. Thanks for the reply Frank! I drive it like normal. The lag is when going from decel and then giving it gas...it will buck sometimes and then slap hard when a lot of gas is applied. I am going to limp it through til winter and prob pull the gears out...... Going to try some thicker oil to protect from more damage
  7. OK.....pretty sure i found the issue: My Gears are starting to wearing significantly. After taking this video below and speaking with a mechanic friend of mine, i believe its my gears. 1-2 gears (ALOT OF SLOP) as showed in the video.. 3- reduced slop 4-5 gears (almost no slop) Let me know what yall think....and thank you for taking the time to read
  8. I am taking off my rear wheel now. Ill check the dampers. I will post back up for everyone. If the dampers are good i am going to remove the drive shaft and inspect. I have new clutch plates i am installing as well.
  9. Bleed the clutch out for SURE. I just did this on my 06. 55K. Its like brand new. TO NOTE: when you bleed it..you have to keep pumping it for 10-12 mins to get pressure back. So dont worry. Also if you are slipping in upper gears. Grab yourself a new clutch(i always order from stadium yamaha....great prices) and dont forget to order the gasket Goodluck!
  10. Is this anything to worry about? Should i pull the shaft and grease it?
  11. Hello all! I have done some research and sort of figured out the slapping in lower gears when accelerating may be the u-joint? Anyone else experienced a delay and hard slap in the rear when accelerating after a shift? Thanks all!!
  12. Thanks yall! I was able to get all the bubbles out. It does take 10-12 minutes worth of pumping. Fluid is clean and good to go!
  13. Good lord! Ok ill keep pumping it. i took out the bleed screw just in case and let it gravity feed the air out. I dont see any bubbles left. It was fine before i did it. Ill post back up. Thank you!
  14. Hey all! I have released the bleeder valve and got all the old fluid out. However, after reading and following all the other posts I am having an issues getting pressure back in the line. The lever feels like mush(clutch not disengaging). Is this air? or am i missing something here? I did not use a vacuum. Should i go get a pump and try it this way? Thanks!
  15. Will part #465-1139 work on a 2006 Venture? May be a repeat, couldnt find anything by search. Thank you!
