I had the trunk (in Harley-Speak "tour pack") off of my '86 for some R&R and kinda liked the look, just didn't like the loss of cargo space!

I called it my YamaGlide Ultra.

You could probably find a fender for it on-line or at Northern Tool or Tractor Supply if you have either near you.

  2. Where is Treasure Coast Florida? Ok I found it, Port St. Lucie, Jensen Beach, Fort Pierce.

Their website is kind of poor in regards to finding them. Without GoogleMaps one would have a hard time. They should put a map with recognizable land marks/area!

That is a really easy fix, David. If you can get to the 5th gear light, all you need to do is to pull it out and clean the connector really well. Next, clean the bulb socket really well , then remount the light..................

After all, look where you posted :confused24:.

I ordered mine last week and they came Sat, really quick shipping. I had the bike apart for some other stuff so I put them on yesterday. I used a round file to enlarge the hole for the wires and a flat file to make it fit fush.

I had the left side faring off, but did the right side thru' turn signal hole. I used bullet connectors for all the connections. Not quite as convenient, but still dis-connectable. I was wiring running lights into the lower "chin" so I ran that wire down with a female bullet connector in the middle and lower end of the wire. Turn signal wire I ran to the reflector. I put a ground for both lights on a spade connector under the lower radiator bolt.

It looks like you side cover is smaller than stock.

If you still have things apart, this would be a good time to dry out the desiccant for the class system. It is in that silver canister under the trunk.

Disconnect the air and bracket. As I recall there is a spring clip in the top, push in on the center and you can remove it. Pour the desiccant into a bowl and microwave it, I do it in 30 second increments. It will turn from pink to blue or visa versa. Keep microwaving until it is a uniform color. Yamamomma recomends replacing the canister every couple of years, but this works just fine and will remove the moister associated with compressing air.

  6. Chris,

I ordered a bell for you. I will bring it by your store or house when I get it.:cool10:

Hmmmmmm.............."an old greybeard biker was returning from a trip to Mexico" I think I'm seeing a pattern here...... :scratchchin:

  7. Darn! Lewis is retiring and I'm making a career change! (That was written by the Dept of Redundancy Dept!)

Oh well, at least I'm not an old fart like him!!!

I'm still with FedEx, but last Monday I moved from the Alpharetta station to the Atlanta airport ramp station to move into the 18 wheelers. I won't be going over the road, but rather driving the containerized freight out to the local FedEx stations and dropping/pulling trailers at customer locations. I'll be a swing driver, so I will be running all the different routes. One upside is, instead of climbing in and out of a delivery truck 60/80 times a day it will be 8/10 times a day. A lot easier on the knees!

For the next couple of weeks I will be riding the different routes, then 40 hrs practice with a trainer b4 going to Memphis for 3 weeks of tractor-trailer school.

School starts Oct 6th and, as I say, I will be there for 3 weeks so I will be looking for some riding/eating friends on the weekends! I'll do a M&E post when we get closer, but if you live in that area, keep me in mind. :group cheers:

Oh yeah, after 6 years as a Tues - Sat employee I had the option to go Mon- Fri! Now I can start making more of the Saturday M&Es!
