    I am overwhelmed by the amount of posts concerning broken throttle cables. Has anyone come up with a solution to this inherent weakness?

    So, in effect it is "non-essential"?

    I am replacing both lower throttle cables. On the pull side is a brass barrel about1 1/4" above the connecting barrel on the bottom of the cable. Can anyone tell me what it is for?
