  1. midnightventure: We have lots of stuff. What kind of stuff are you looking for? I still have a King size bed, 4 poster; a queen bed, brass; a dresser / mirror and nightstand; computer desk that looks like a roll top desk; a Precious Moments figurine collection (still have over 100 pieces that have not been spoken for or sold); dishes, glasses, some pans; lots of pictures, mostly deer and or fish; Don has some stuff out in the shop we haven't gone thru yet; a shop fan; tool box for pick up truck; lots and lots of STUFF. Anything in particular you are looking for? Most of the furniture is already sold or spoken for. Let me know if anything interests anyone! LOL

  2. thanks everyone. Appreciate the sentiments. We hope to have many happy times in this over the next several years.

Ragtop: Yes it has a kitchen. Not sure how I missed posting that photo. Will post later.

Midrsv: Your winter home is beautiful. Keystone makes some really nice units. They must have got a good deal on the "wall paper" as we have that same pattern too!!! Same with the countertops.

Great White: You make alot of good points. We have had lots of different campers thru the years but this is our first 5th wheel. The faucets in this one are already upgraded and not plastic. We have the chocks and leveling blocks on our list, as well as the sewer hose (the good one), something to keep it off the ground (as required in state parks), drinking water hose, the special toilet paper, water pressure regulator, 50 to 30 amp adapter, 30-15 amp adapter, and some wheel covers. We purchased a surge protector already. That was a MUST.

We will definitely look into the max air roof vent covers. Good idea. We were told this unit has a "stirrer" in the black water holding tank so it doesn't need "rinsing" out. We will see. Gloves are a definite!!! LOLOL.

"Downsizing" is an issue right now with me. I know I can't take much with us so I just have to decide what is important and what is not. Will figure it out.

We will test this out at the International Rally. Hope to see everyone there!!! Y'all let me know if you have any other suggestions for us. All are welcome!

  3. Picked up our new home today. A 2016 Keystone Montana 41' 5th wheel. Can't wait to get on the road with her. We reserved a camping spot at Lakeside for the International rally. Will be canceling our room at the Comfort Suites if anyone still needs a room.

  4. Thank you everyone! I appreciate the good wishes and Don says thanks too. I am writing down names so when the time comes we will let you know when we might be in your area! Sounds good to me!

We pick up our camper tomorrow and will spend at least 4 hours in orientation. Hope it still comes with books, a video or two might be nice too.

Thanks again folks. That's why we love this family. You all couldn't be nicer folks.

  5. Well folks...it's really happening! Today is my last day of work. I am finally retiring. We sold the house and closed on it last week. We have until September 1 to liquidate all our belongings and leave this house we have lived in for over 13 years. We purchased a new 2016 Montana 5th wheel and a truck to pull it. That is going to be our new home for the next several years (we hope!). We will be traveling full time.

We have been planning this for a year and a half. and suddenly it's a reality. I am a little scared, nervous, anxious...all of those. And yet I am EXCITED! I am ready for a change, ready for my dreams to come true. Don and I are ready to travel this beautiful country and maybe visit some of you on the way.

Our first stop will be the International Rally where we plan to camp at Lakeside Campgrounds. Then it's back home to finish selling all our "stuff". If anyone needs "stuff" please let me know!!!! LOLOLOL!!! We haven't really decided where to go first, when we head out for real. I guess it depends on the weather Sept 1. If it's warm we may head north. If it's starting to cool off, maybe we head south. It could be West or East. Maybe we will just head out wherever the roads take us and stop when we are done for the day. No hurries, no plans...now THAT sounds scary to me!

We will definitely be keeping in touch here.

  6. Don't forget to send me your registration forms and money. There are alot of people signed up on the calendar that haven't paid yet. Remember, we need a head count for the food. If you want a T Shirt, you must send me the registration form. I can't guarantee we will have extra shirts available at the rally.

Please folks!!! Do not wait until the last minute. You can scan the form and email it to me or mail it. The deadline is a little more than a week away unless you want to pay the LATE FEE!!

PM me if you are coming and I will make a note of it. Thank you

  7. That is sweet Peggy. My father was the same way. Worked hard and yet always had time for his wife and kids. There are 6 of us kids. He and mom always made us feel special and always had time for us. Dad was always involved in our school activities and took us places in the summer. I miss him.

  8. Sorry Lewis, we can't be there either this year. Due to the date, we will be busy getting rid of our stuff and getting ready to hit the road. We have to have everything out of the house by the end of August. It's really hard to get rid of ALL your stuff.

I intend to bid on the auctions tho. Hummingbird made some really cool stuff!!! C'mon folks...please support St. Jude's! Such a worthy cause. This has just fallen at a bad time for us this year.

  9. Congrats to a much deserving Marca and her husband...Carl. Not sure how she put up with you all those years. Guess she was too busy doing all that stuff for you and lost track of time. LOLOL!

Seriously you two..congrats! It takes alot of hard work to make it those many years. Wishing you many more happy years together.

  10. Thanks Bill! You have worked really hard putting this together and we appreciate it. It's going to be a great meet!!! The ride to Hannibal is a great one. And thanks for putting together a ride through WINE country..to Herman. Again, this is a great ride, not to mention there are great stops when you get to Herman. Lots to do and see!!! I highly recommend both rides.

Meeting on Monday night at Golden Corral (this is NOT included in your registration) will be loads of fun. It's an awesome buffet so bring your appetite!

Don and I look forward to seeing our old friends and meeting the new ones. You can NEVER have too many friends.
