  1. :snow2: we are in panic mode here too.... they have a forcast of nearly a cm* this afternoon and maybe a full cm* tomorrow,,,, fortunately it is a holiday weekend here so we will not need to shut the city down.... it already is....but I may need to figure how to get to work and keep the heat on.

    * for our neighbours that do not do metric 2.5 cm = aproximately 1 inch

be safe out there..... oh and I had a great ride yesterday on a beautiful sunny but cool (near freezing) day

    :snow2:

Yup it was kind of close, I was thinking of heading up to Grump's & firing up the snowblower. I should to that anyways, as I have not fired it up in 3 years..... :stirthepot:

  2. it has been a learning experience thats for sure

i.e. reach in the drawer in the bathroom, is that toothpaste, heat linament, or preperation H.

i have good neighbours, when i walk past my house they turn me around and send me home.

they have also cleared the snow so i can get out for my walks.:thumbsup2:

    cheers, Scott

Last time I spoke with you, it was only one eye. Will have to call again, this week.

OMG, had baited you with Candy & the trap got sprung, ouch !@#$%^&*...... :2cents:

Do not apply the tube contents, in the wrong locations, you will probably regret it. :bang head:

Maybe it is time, to paint your fork tubes white, with RED tips, starting just above the axle spindle. Just in case, your sight goes wonky again. :080402gudl_prv:

  3. Looks like Sprocket found true love. :smile5: "I met her in a field and we both felt the attraction....it was very mooooving for both of us", claims sprocket. "We went behind an old rusted trailer and well......"

Nope, Mini Moo didn't want her pic taken & these were the closest we could get her for any pics (about 15 feet) & the bull was on the other side of the fence & was agitated, from us trying to corner Mini Moo.

She is about the right size for a Mini Muffin, though...... Still debatable on which is taller, Mini Muffin or Mini Moo..... :stickpoke::duck:

  4. With sad news I sold my Wing and it was not a easy call

Due to my health getting worse and Pegs health issues the Wing sat in the garage I spent money $$$$ on several style seats - backrests and peg extensions still had pain in my body use to I could ride 700+miles with no issues now if I went just 20 miles my body was in pain so we talked about it a lot

So you might say I followed RoadKill & Wildhair39 bought a convertible

We're still going to the meets & Rally's when work let's us that is if y'all don't mind us being in a convertible

    Buddy

Well that sucks, but hopefully you will be able to go the distance this way & not be limited to the home area.....

  5. PS- thks Kevin for the tips on cornering the beast thru the blind corners it seems to helped a lot! I guess I had just to get the mental thing sorted out. (Ive been told that before, but never about biking....:) )

Too much flat land riding, is your problem Brian.... Need to practice your mountian riding more...

    :stickpoke:

  6. I spent 2 weeks in northern Alberta to check out courses, after waiting for the flooding to diminish & close to 6 weeks in Idaho (by the time I leave here).

Scotty found a new use for used MC rear tires, he installed one on the front of his tractor. This was supposed to keep the rim out of the dirt (or so he says). His wife & kids did not even notice the MC tire install.

The Idaho stint was some hauling hay & then re-building Pakidaho's big trailer. Worn out suspension, a shot spindle, riding only on the rear axle (with the shot spindle). So a complete suspension replacement was performed, including a 8" lift & heavy duty components & self adjusting brakes. Now it rides within 2" of being level, Vs a 7" difference front to back. Also mostly re-wired it too, as brake wiring was overheating (suitable for 2 brakes, but not 4 brakes. Breakaway system was not hooked up, broken wiring junction box & confusing wires for the lighting. So all wiring was replaced except for the front clearance lights. Rear clearance lights also needed work (poor ground & busted mounts) & added fender clearance lights after these pics were taken. Looks like the smaller trailer needs bearing work this week too, as the wheels have some wobble in them. Erv discovered this today, while hauling a cow back here, that Terri just bought.

The tractor pics are of Scotty's with the MC tire on it. Put another on it Scotty & it just might pass Condors 2nd gens (they spend to much time parked, they must be just home decorations).:stirthepot::duck:

Terri has not gotten to E-mailing me the before pic of the trailer. But here are some after pics, with 5,000 Lbs of hay on it.

BTW Terri got the F450 & trailer stuck right after finishing loading, so I towed them out with my K1500 Chev 4X4.....

    :thumbsup2::canada:

    ROCKET?? ROCKET?? Where ya hiding??

  7. I never been able to get him, over to one of the more western rally's. But met up with him in 2008, at the International. I have at home pics of him & squid in what I called the Rally WET T SHIRT CONTEST (a pair of drowned rats at a broken 2nd gen).:stirthepot: I have previously posted them, during that Rally. I will not re-post them as I am currently almost 1,000 miles from home & don't expect to get there for a few weeks.

I will miss having the occasional conversation with him & meeting up with him again. :2cents:

  8. plugs and terminals all looked like brand new as well as the boards....

Check for cracks on the solder joints, on the backside of the CMS plug terminal. These were known for cold solder joints, just like the CLASS Controller, in the right fairing. Check the tech library, for instructions, to fix these issues.

  9. Carl I called your contact number and the guy that answered the phone said you hardly ever are at the shop.

How come you dont answer your contact phone?:whistling: whats gonna happen when one of our memebers has an issue in your neck of the woods and cant get you on the phone?:rotf::rotf::stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot:

    Jeff

Jeff, you are more than 2yrs out of date.:stickpoke: I called him @ home yesterday. :thumbsup2:

He started your trick of fixing other bikes, but forgot 1 thing. To let the new owner dump it & not him prior to pickup by the owner.

    :mo money: :bang head:

  10. Around here about 1/3 of the snow has melted, but if it turns warm like it should be for this time of year, we are screwed! We have sandbags and levees up all over town and around the province, they are forecasting bigger runoff than 2011 when all of the water than ran outta here flooded a big chunk of North Dakota, especially Minot

    Brian

What is a "bad wonter"??????? :stickpoke::duck:

Maybe time, to stap pontoons onto the SUV & install sand tires for the paddle effect... :080402gudl_prv: :stirthepot:

  11. Actually you shouldn't have to remove the side covers to get to the seat, there is a recess in the side rails that the saddlebags clip on to. I honestly can't remember if the saddlebags have to come off or not to get to those bolts, there is one on each side. You should take some lock graphite and really lube up the locks. Yes, the front locks are the ones to remove the saddlebags. I can remember one of my bags being slightly out of alignment and I had to wack the bag to get the key to move...

Yup the bags need to come off for the Mk1, to get at the seat bolts. But the easy way, if the retaining locks need work, is to open the bags & unthread the 3 screws from the inside holding the exterior locks to the bags. This way, you can get the tank work started & play with the locks later.

  12. Would really love to have one but I heard they loss their power if YOU buy one your own bike? It must be given as a gift. Is this true. If so then I don't know what to do. Wife is Filipina and just don't understand that little custom. It's cool always learning right.

Yup, it would be underpowered, just like running a 2nd gen, would be........ :stickpoke::stirthepot:

  13. Well Dan those pics were taken in Alaska so maybe she was just thinking you would have to go there to get it and you would be out of her hair for quite a while.

    Ride Happy, Ride Safe

    Sneaky ain't she.....:snow2:

If so, YOU could always spend some time, here on the coast, before heading back home. :stirthepot: :canada:

  14. Haven't been on the laptop, been setting up a new desktop, with 3D display (27"), 6 Terrabytes of Hdd space (so far) & also put most of the movie collection on 4 @ 3 Terrabyte external Hdds as well. Only can get so much done, getting up at the "crack of noon". Been thinking of a new NAS as well (need a larger & faster one).

Yes I have been keeping an eye on the news, but haven't had this site, on the desk top until now. Bubber told me about the inquiries, tonight on the phone. Kinda surprised Condor has not said anything, I talk with him most weekends.

I had also somehow srewed up the left shoulder, so I have not even worked on the bikes or truck. Due to the shoulder, my re-training is on the back burner until its good, as I don't want to waste $20,000. The truck is going into the shop on thurs for some work, but I don't have the tooling for those jobs anyways. Will need to set the alarm, for 6 AM that day GRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN.

    :mo money: :mo money:

So for now, I have been doing the "retirement thing", all kinds of time & still not getting much done. Kevin, I have been meeting up with Bill, a couple of times a month, for the meat draw, at the local Legion, too. :stirthepot:

BTW: Have been getting a chuckle out of "Coast to Coast AM", been streaming it over the net, mostly from Utube, onto the computer or the WD TVlive hooked up to the 47" 3D TV.

Rocket seems to be missing from the site. I know he was going away for retraining into the Civilian life but I thought the Armed Forces would let him have internet access while in training.

    :stickpoke:

  15. spoiled brat retierment at 51 or 52 it kind of makes older service persons want to up chuck. boy the kids in this day and age have it made now in my day .:backinmyday:i think i may keep on rockets back all week. he has had it all to easy for the last two weeks. time for the old man to shake him up.:stirthepot:gggeting nasty.

Didn't old gladiators like you, just get a wooden sword, to mark your retirement....

You were retired (retarded too), when I first met you, back in 91. :stirthepot:

    Two can play that game......

  16. :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:

You know very well that Robin is far from a HEAVY passenger but my son in law is a big boy.. had an interesting ride with him on the back this past Sunday..

Ok, so Bongo isn't hitching rides again, so much for that suspect.... :stirthepot:

Check with that big ugly MOTHER, he used to have one kicking around, his place. He had previously put it on, but didn't like it, so went back to stock.

  17. How come when I was looking at my previous thread, Friesman's button is red and the rest are green,, does that mean he is earmarked for destruction?

In the Red Light District???? :duck:

  18. WOW they retrain you guys? All I remember getting on my way out the gate was discharge paperwork, a retired ID card and a shadow box with my medals etc in it. I had to fall back on my "learned skills".

I am "Broken" from Bosnia (11 Yrs ago), thus the retraining. To a different line of work, without the lifting, or constant bending involved.

Geez, I didnt know re-training would be possible for such an old dog.........? :buttkick::yikes:

    Brian:rotfl:

The old SEA dog, lives a short distance away & I'm not sure if he is trainable. :stickpoke:
