Greetings All
My winter/spring project. 1996 Royals Star Tour Classic
I inherited this 1996 royal star classic.
I am excited to see this beast on the road. The poor thing was neglected for many years just sitting with gas still in it. Eventually turning into to dust and gunk.
1. Carbs rebuilt. (Tried it myself ended up taking it to someone to finalize my work)
2. Tank cleaned
3. Fuel lines and filters replace.
3. Battery and everything in between.
I finally fired her up about a month ago (with my fingers crossed) and she ran. After about 20mins of riding around the neighborhod...it cut off
I have narrowed the problem down to kickstand switch(should be arriving tomorrow) or ignition switch.
It seems that ignition switch has plagued many, so I dove into this write up on the switch bypass.
I do have questions to make sure I am correct and before I start blowing fuses.
1. Cut the Brown/Blue from the under side of the fuse box. (Leave enough room to play with)
At the fuse box under side of the fuse box
2. Brown/Blue (Labeled "BR/L" in the circuit diagram) fuse box bus is connected to a RED 10AWG wire.
The other end of the RED 10AWG goes to relay output. Is this the Started Relay?
Ignition Switch Brown/Blue ("BR/L")
3. The yellow "Wayne" wire connects to the cut Brown/Blue.
The other end of the "Wayne" wire goes in the activating coil. By activating coil, do you mean starter relay?
Wow, I actually posted something on needing assistance.
