Can someone explain the difference between a 2005 RSV XVZ13TFMT and a XVZ13TF. What is the MT and how are they different?

That is a neat idea, I was thiking of removing the chrome venture ornament and replacing it with a light similar to HD Road King.

My question to everyone is who puts their bike up on a lift during the winter months? with my old bike I used a tilting lift (same principal as center stand) however this bike needs mods to the lift to work. I have an 05 RSV. Any harm in letting it sit on its wheels all winter and not move? I would think flat spots would be an issue?

Hi all, wondering what head set is compatible with the RSV it's an 05. Either a helmet with buit in comms or a set you can plug and play.

Hey Eck The reason I ask for a section is with the hopes people will post a mod and explain what they did with pics rather than leaving us newbies to guess or figure it out. Yes I could search "mods" but it really doesn't explain what they are. Any way you get my point, great forum just the same with lots of info.

I would like a section where you could list Mods you done to your bike, DIY type stuff, I am sure there are some great ideas out there for various improvments.

I was wondering if anyone has installed running lights LED or otherwise on their saddle bags. I have an 05 RSV and looking at options. Pics would be nice.

I had the same problem. Crazy glued it then used a solder gun and melted the plastic together lightly. Holding strong!

Just got the bike, when I picked it up it was warm out and there was no noise. Over the past few days the temp has been a little cooler and that is when I noticed it. Being a mechanic it sounds like a stiff rubber bushing (thus the cold). Really wanted to toss it out there to see if others experienced the same.

So does it have to be fork oil or can I use any light weight oil?

At the expense of wearing out my welcome as a new member with question on my new ride, I have an 05 RSV I notice it creeks (groans) when I sit on it (insert joke here). It sounds like a dry rubber bushing or something. Any ideas, this is my first bike of this size and shaft driven thus the question.

So I mounted my GPS today since the weather is terrible. The problem I am have is the plug won't stay in the 12v outlet in the fairing. Is this a common issue? fixes? Thanks

Hi all, new to this forum. Just purchased an 05 RSV, had to clean and secure the audio connections in the fairing and while in there removed the cassette deck. My question is on the radio I can fade front/back but the volume button doesn't seem to do anything for the speakers. Does the volume knob only work for the headset?
