  1. The bike runs fine with no dead cylinders. But it was one of the first rides of the spring though. Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk
  2. I work at a vocational center teaching Collision Repair. Our auto mechanics instructor rebuilt them for me. Completely stripped, soaked and rebuilt with new kits. Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk
  3. Had them rebuilt last fall. Plus I just synced all 4 just a few weeks ago. The temp im seeing is directly on the pipe itself. The fronts are way cooler than the rears. But it is the same on both sides, which leads me to believe it might be normal? Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk
  4. My rear two cylinder's exhaust pipes are quite a bit hotter than the front 2 on my 2006 your deluxe with 14,000 miles. Just noticed this and wondered if it was normal for a particular reason or something else. Bike runs fine. Thanks for any info. Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk
  5. I haven't used flex additive in years. Unless you are using old paint, most stuff is urethane based. Very flexible to begin with. Flex additive in my experience tends to orange peel some. A ppg paint clinic I took 15 years ago said that the flex additive is only for assembly purposes and eventually leaves the paint film. Again my opinion. But there is no part on my bike that I would consider super flexible anyways. You should be more worried about adhesion to some plastics and there is a special primer for that. Thanks, Scott
  6. I see it now! I wanted to make sure I didn't make someone mad. I sometimes do that. Thanks Thanks, Scott
  7. In the tapatalk app it tells me I am banned but will continue to let me post. As far as I know I should not be banned, the website doesn't tell me this. I paid my subscription and once in a while it tells me this and after the pop up I can go on about my day on here. Anybody have any ideas to fix this? Thanks, Scott
  8. SOLVED!! After disassembly of the bike and carbs, it was gummed up inside. Only parts needed was float bowl o rings. Not that complicated just a lot of paying attention and only doing one carb at a time. Carb balance was off side to side. It's a runner now and the wife and I can get it out more. Thanks for all that helped. I am now a paid member. Thanks, Scott
  9. Never mind. Upon closer inspection this is NOT a waste spark engine. Each cylinder has it's own coil so the rpm read is actual engine speed. Thanks, Scott
  10. I have a clamp on tachometer for my multimeter. Do I have to double the reading for the proper speed? I read that it fires on every stroke instead of just compression. Is this correct for a 2006 RSTD? If this is the case I have mine set to 500 rpm instead of 1000. Thanks, Scott
  11. Is the fuel system the same on a venture and your deluxe? Would an 06 tour deluxe be a second gen venture? Thanks, Scott
  12. Thanks. My wife just came home from work with a carbtune pro the previous owner dropped off to the buyer of his bike. This day is getting better. Thanks, Scott
  13. I started to disassemble the bike and realized that I need a service manual. I don't want to remove something I don't need to. I ordered a paper manual. I will get a fuel filter and spark plugs while I wait for the manual. Thanks for the help and I will keep you updated. Thanks, Scott
  14. I'm an Ase master tech so I'm a car guy not so much motorcycles. Definitely not a carb guy. The bike disassembly is not what worries me it's the carb disassembly. Thanks, Scott
  15. They did it at the car dealer to get it running. So I have no idea on the ratio. It has had two tanks of fresh gas ran through. I will change all filters. I have changed oil and filter first. Do the carbs come apart easily to get a really good clean? Are there rebuild kits available? Thanks, Scott
