  1. Is this piece necessarily needed to do the upgrade? having problems getting from Yamaha..... Shift Cam Segment upgrade I will soon be adding an upgraded clutch spring and thought that as long as I am in there I may as well upgrade the clutch cam segment to the improved designed segment from a newer model. I've read here that an upgrade would be a segment assembly for a newer XVZ1300. But before I order the parts I want to make sure I am ordering the correct stuff. The below PN's are for a 2000 XVZ1300TF. My bike is an 86 VR. The part numbers I intend to order are below and if this is not the correct way for me to proceed, please, someone jump in and get me squared-away. Here ya go: Dowel Pin 93603-10049-00 (one) Plate Stopper 4NK-18141-00-00 Segment 4NK-18185-00-00 Dowel Pin 93604-12037-00 (five) Countersunk screw 90151-06013-00 (just in case) Dowel pin 93604-16092-00 Thanks Wil Shift Cam Segment upgrade hey guys i got a whole brand new set of these parts in the package from Yamaha ..i bought one set up and UPS LOST IT SO IT WAS REPLACED ...then UPS found it, 3 months later and gave it to me anyone interested in buying it cheaper then from Yamaha? i'm up for offers...PM me....All in the factory packages..

Well guys your the bomb......I want to thank all of you for your great help...I'm back up and running ...It was that one of the pins fell out, put back in and bent the tab back, now it's time to get me one of those updated thing a ma giggers. :)BEST 12 BUCKS I EVER SPENT..   6. any pics on here showing the devil, and to be quite honest i dont even know what side of the bike the clutch drum is on to attack it,the bike ran and shifted like a dream before oil change and fork rebuild, yesterday.... 35 years on the same harley..LOL yes its a japanese harley LOL
  7. well i bleed the clutch with great success, but still cannot shift from 3 to 4th and 5th, it was great till i changed the motor oil in it...weird..i'll look at what you said bk. Will
  8. i used what a Yamaha repair told to use GTX20/50....hmmm .so many opinions on type of oil to use here , what do you suggest LOL Thanks Will

Well i just joined your site and i'm looking for advice ...of course,well i have an 83 xvz12tk venture. this is a new bike for me, and so i changed all the fluids on the bike except brake fluid and clutch fluid..well after the oil change i found i could not get it to shift properly, so i started by adjusting the foot shifter and managed to get 1'st gear neutral 2'nd and 3rd gear, but i can't find or get it to go into 4th and 5th gear...any ideas would be greatly appreciated .... Thanks guys... Will PS. i'm also a 35 year Harley rider and am totally mechanically inclined....LOL
