  1. I am back down in Sioux Falls waiting for the dealership to open so I can get my new tires. Love the bike. Dave, you did a great job at getting her dialed in. She likes to exceed the speed limit with out letting me know. She just creaps on up to 85.

    Hopefully this rain stops soon.

  2. Sitting in the airport in Las Vegas Nevada waiting to fly to Sioux Falls South Dakota where I am buying a bike as old as I am (1984 February build date). After getting fresh tires for it tomorrow, I am going to ride 1,400 miles home. I will be stopping for the night in Denver CO.

  3. Due to work, and home life, I have to unfortunately cut my trip short. I will not be able to make it to PIP this year.

I will be in Sioux Falls SD tomorrow and Thursday then I am heading back to Las Vegas. Maybe I will see some people making the trek up there.

I look forward to seeing pictures and hearing the stories that are deemed okay to post on here.

  4. Hi Chris, Not sure how timing will work out. On Friday, 9/12, we will be traveling from Barstow, CA to Cedar City, UT, 325 miles. Wasn't planning to stop in Las Vegas this trip, but Las Vegas is about half way. It may be a good time for lunch. Any ideas? I'm always ready for a good buffet.

All the casinos have great buffets. I like Aliante the best.

  5. Has the bike been sitting long? If so, was it stored on the side stand? My left side carbs were all but plugged up when I got my bike. My left side plugs were as black as black can be.

Pull the tank and spray the carbs out.

  6. my 01 did something similar to that a few weeks ago. I had just gotten gas and only went across the parking lot for lunch and came back out and it was sputtering and even died on me. Took a while to re start, acted a little better as I got home. I thought that is odd, see how it is in the morning.

Started right up and ran horrible. I opened the gas cap to put seafoam in and the pressure hissed at me very loudly. put the cap back on started it rode away, not a problem since.

so, long story short it might be improper venting of your gas cap.

  7. One of the Best reasons for hanging around this site is the Old Fogies who still believe in God, flag and country. CM your the next gen of Old Fogie.

"Age is just a number" Works both ways. I have never really gotten along with my generation. I am often accused of being an old soul. I think I am already an old fogie at heart.

  8. What is infuriating is that the pick-up driver gets away with only a ticket....:bang head:

I do not see why that is infuriating; if two cars get in a wreck, we do not always cry out to fry the driver at fault unless they were doing something criminal.

We choose to ride motorcycles. we know that if we get in a wreck the would be minor for a car, it can be catastrophic for us. Why should the car driver get in more trouble because he failed to see a much smaller and harder to see target.

It is sad and my prayers go out to all the parties involved, but the driver of the truck made a mistake, and had he hit a Honda Accord, there would be no issue.

  9. Up until I met Venturefar, my numbers were kind of low too. People keep getting me addicted to different parts of riding.

Venturefar has me hooked on IBA rides.

Puck has me putting stickers and signatures all over my bike and now I am buying a first gen and planning to go double-tracking with it.

I have no clue what the next good friend I meet is going to get me hooked on.:cool10:
