  1. Will check that out tonight. Does the ignition switch have any contacts that could be dirty? I'm hoping for an easy fix!
  2. Need help, I have an 83 venture that I had on a trickle charge for several weeks, when I then tried to start it the gauges went nuts and the starter did not crank at all. I did check the battery and it was good (13v). Now when I turn the key to on I loose all power to the dash even the clock goes off, and take the key to acc and all seems well. What did I burn up or break? Thanks for all your help on this one.
  3. Just started looking at the plugs for the regulator and found the plug melted where the red wires are. Next ? Where to start looking for the short that caused this and how to tell if the regulator is toast?
  4. thanks again the education that I'm getting here is great. the voltmeter on the dash pegs out an eighth of an inch above the green field which shows 16 as the high. I put a meter on the battery and it coinsides with the gauge showing a high of 16.6-16.9v while rpm is 3500.
  5. My 83 started this a couple days ago, my ? is the regulator a common part or is it special for the model? What is the best place to get one? Thanks for all info.
