  1. Did a 1,000 mile ride over Memorial Day weekend to Rolling Thunder with some military buddies. We rode through West Virginia mountains, back country roads, and a thunder run back to Columbus, Ohio on Monday. We had one hell of a collection of bikes to include Harleys (Willie G's all to way to Electroglides), a Concourse, a Road Star, a Victory Vegas, and a Valkyre. At every fuel stop, the other riders dismounted and commenced to griping about stiff parts and sore butts. Not me! The 2007 Venture handled all the riding conditions with class. Once I decided not to try to hang with the Concourse on the tight mountain turns in WV, my ride was perfect. Moreover, I felt that I could have ridden all day. A short rain shower - no issue. Others were soaked, my bike kept me dry in spite of not stopping to put on the rain gear. Accelerating up steep climbs - no issue! 80 mph on Route 70 - too easy! I love this bike!!!
  2. I was in the South parking lot also. I'm so sorry I missed you. I was very much looking forward to meeting some of the members of this site.
  3. Just got off the road after returning to Columbus Ohio from Rolling Thunder in DC. While I was there, walked through the Pentagon parking lot and looked at tens of thousands of motorcycles. I didn't see a single Venture! What gives here. Where are all the Ventures??
  4. So my pressure guage that with the bike is metric. Is 3-4 a setting or actual messure of pressure?
  5. I recently purchased an 07 Midnight Venture. I leave in a few days on a four-day ride with the boys to Rolling Thunder in DC for Memorial Day weekend. The manual give a range of ride pressures for the rear shock and front forks. My question: can anyone recommend a good start point for the "right" pressures for comfort on a long tirp with a single rider? I'll have a gym bag in the trunk and my own body weight (180) on the bike. No passenger.
  6. So, how tough was it to get the RSV back up on two wheels again?
  7. Big Tom, I got your PM. Thanks much. I'm also looking forward to help with the rigth wires to reroute. Makes good sense to me.
  8. My recently acquired 2007 Midnight Venure makes an annoying background hiss and a soft ticking sound when we use the intercom. Is this normal or is there something I can do about it?
  9. Took the plunge a bought a Dowco Guardian Cover. It was a little pricey, but it seems sturdy and fits the bike like a glove. Folding the antennas down made all the difference in the world. Thanks again.
  10. Prayers launched brother. I will see you on the road!
  11. Duh.. I had no idea the antennas folded that way. Thanks for both pieces of info.
  12. I have an '07 Midnight Venture (love this bike by the way). I was wondering if there is a preferred cover for taking on the road and also if I have to remove the antennas each time I want to cover the bike. Thanks is andvance for the feedback.
  13. Classic case of torque vs horsepower.
