ventureblue Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I was just wondering? Is it normal when putting the sidestand up for it to bounce a bit? Its kind of annoying. Is the a remady for this or do i need to live with it? Thanks in advance.
BuddyRich Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Check to be sure the nut and bolt are tight. Also grease it. Mine will flex out just a little when the weight of the bike is put on it.
ventureblue Posted August 4, 2008 Author Posted August 4, 2008 WELL IT BOUNCES WHEN I AM ON IT AND WANT TO PUT IT UP. IT REALLY DOESN'T FLEX WHEN ITS DOWN. i THOGHT ABOUT THE TORQUE ON IT. iT JUST SEEMS THAT WHEN IT WAS NEWER IT WENT UP AND WAS FIRM AS IT MOVED UP.
BuddyRich Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 If its loose when its up I would really look at the nut and bolt then. Mine is not really loose when its up. I did have to take it apart once and clean and grease it cause it got a bunch of crap in it. That time it was dragging when I went to put it down. I'm not relly sure what you mean about bounce. Maybe the spring is weak. Mines a 05 and it doesn't bounce when its up and I'm going down the road. But I have actually never watched to see if it did.
dynodon Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I think he means it bounces when he puts it up and it bangs against the stop and then bounces back a time or two. Mine does that, I stop it by keeping my toe on the lever till it is almost all the way up. It won't hurt anything though. My lever was a little loose and a minor tightening of the bolt made it nicer and less "bounce" if I just flip it up.

THATS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.I will try to tighten it up and see if that corrects the issue. Thanks
