I have been told that the ventures came with removable mufflers. Why did yamaha do that!!!! Go figure??? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
tazmocycle Posted May 7, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 7, 2007 the mufflers are a little shorter on the 96-01 std royals. the ventures are about 2" longer. i bought a set of sampson fishtail for mine and the mounting bracket was strait up and not bent over at a 90% angle like the venture's. i tried to put my sampson's on my 01 venture and they hit the saddlebags, they needed to be about 2" LONGER TO BE RIGHT. but as far as the inside diameter of the muffler, it's the same size. the header pipes on the 96-01 is about 7/8" id vs the venture is 1 1/8" id. bubs pipes that i have on mine is 1 3/4" id giving it a deeper rumble like h-pipes on a mustang if you've heard that. you can watch e-bay and find some slip-on there sometimes.
