chachi Posted April 24, 2008 Share #1 Posted April 24, 2008 I want to connect my CB and Garmin unit to the accessory plug located under seat of my 07 RSTD. Is there a harness that allows me to wire to my units and plug directly to the existing plug? chachi
Knothaid Posted April 24, 2008 Share #2 Posted April 24, 2008 The existing plug should be both the male and female plug together. One side has no wires. They need to be added. I did this (or rather had the dealer do this.) and it worked fine for up to 5a of things you want to operate with the key in the acc or run position. The fuse however is in the right side leg fairing. PITA if you blow it over the other box IMO.
EFudd Posted August 27, 2008 Share #3 Posted August 27, 2008 My dealer didn't know anything about this connector (no one had every asked). Contacted Yamaha Canada through their web page and they sent me a "Tech Tips". It has part nos. and install info. Wonder how many more of them there are. Leland Posted August 28, 2008 Share #4 Posted August 28, 2008 I don't know how you copy previous posts to a new post, but if you search my threads, you will see one tilted "I've been accessorizing". BYW, I just cut that stupid plug off and crimped on standard terminals - to power a relay coil though.
RSTDRIDER Posted August 28, 2008 Share #5 Posted August 28, 2008 I cut mine off also, put a power station (fused) so I could plug in radar detector, GPS or whatever. Kinda nice, turn the key off and whatever you have plugged in turns off and you don't come back to a dead battery.
roadwarrior Posted September 7, 2008 Share #6 Posted September 7, 2008 Where do you get this power station and do you need a specific kind?
