Carry on,... Not being of great physical height, I need to wear boots with a thick sole when I ride to have the leg leverage to back up when needed and to get a firm 2 foot plant. I bought a pair of Wolverine boots from WallyWorld that are comfortable and waterproof. Used them in "real world" rainstorms - worked great.
