k9cottage Posted August 10, 2015 #1 Posted August 10, 2015 you are never to old to learn new tricks and today i learned something new .be very careful when you remove the fuel lines from the pump .after an engine rebuild i was just not happy with the bikes performance i re striped the carbs and reset the float levels & cleaned them out again and resynced . but i was just not happy so i went looking today fuel pump was clicking the way it should and i was just about to change it when i noticed the 2 pipes coming out were not straight i blew into them and could blow and suck on both so the valves were not working in my haste to remove them before the engine rebuild i had put to much pressure and had bent the base [it doesn't take much to bend] trouble is the valves seal against the base on the inside a slight warp makes the pump useless .i got the pipes straight again and now it is working again so be careful when removing the fuel lines .
