I have an old Garmin e-map GPS unit. Back when I had my 99 RSV I found that a simple zip tie worked well to hold it onto the mirror mount. I used this setup for thousands of miles. I did clip the units wrist strap around a point on the bike in case the zip tie were to break. This method didn't work on the bikes that came after the RSV. Now that I have an RSTD it works again! I wonder if Garmin has a similar form factor in an updated GPS unit.

I think the only GPS that might even be like that now are hand held hiking and maybe outdoors man type units.
