love2ride Posted May 4, 2014 #1 Posted May 4, 2014 There is a hose or tube that comes out of the top of my fuel tank ..I am not sure what it is suppose to connect to. It is on an 86 venture royale that was not running when I got it. It runs now. But there random hoses that are not connect to anything. Any input will Thanks everyone.
bongobobny Posted May 4, 2014 #2 Posted May 4, 2014 Without a picture it's hard to determine exactly, but I'm thinking it is your vent tube, which just goes down the center of the bike to the ground. You will also have 4 vent tubes doing the same thing in the same area that are for venting gas should the float needle valve get stuck open. There will also be a hose from the battery box connected to nothing...
Peder_y2k Posted May 4, 2014 #3 Posted May 4, 2014 That tube from the top of the tank is indeed a vent line that routes up alongside the right side of the tank neck and connects to (makes) a 'snorkel' mounted near the filler, and it keeps water and dirt from entering and fuel from draining out when overturned. -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA
love2ride Posted May 4, 2014 Author #4 Posted May 4, 2014 Thanks for answers guys. mine has a hose that goes from the tank vent all the way to the front of the bike. I will just leave it this way since it's not hurting anything.
