10spd Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Now that I have had my bike for about 2 months now. I have run 2 cans of Seafoam through it. When the bike is cold it runs like a scalded dog. Once it warms up it does seem to sputter a little on a good pull. This winter I will put new plugs wires & caps. to see if that will help. But in the mean time could it be something as simple as a partially plugged fuel filter? Or could my fuel pump be going bad? Or both. I might be just as far ahead to replace both while I have the bike down.
dacheedah Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 seafoam can cause issues with the plugs, after a dose or 2 I usually refresh the plugs. At least pulling them out to read them. Techtron is also very good for a carb soak. are the exhaust pipes the same temperature of do you have a cool one? fuel filter change is always good carb sync may help, inspect slides and diaphragms
10spd Posted September 21, 2013 Author Posted September 21, 2013 Thanks, never thought about pipe temp. we do that on the racecar. I will check that
Huggy Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Rainy and warm!!! Well It does say "weather" in the thread posting!
