Guest Dave Rogge Posted January 26, 2013 #1 Posted January 26, 2013 I have pulled all the plastic fairing parts off my 84 VR for some repair work. Is it OK to remove the intercom cables that are plugged into the top of the stereo power unit? I figured I would cover the plug holes with tape or some other sealing substance. I won't be using the intercom system. I had stuffed the cables inthe fairing before, but since I won't ever use them, I'd like to do away with them. Do the other functions of the radio work with these unplugged? Thanks
MiCarl Posted January 26, 2013 #2 Posted January 26, 2013 They can be removed. Not sure why you would though:confused24:. It's not like they take much room.
bongobobny Posted January 26, 2013 #3 Posted January 26, 2013 Yes you can remove them and everything still will work fine! the rubber cover on top of the connectors is sufficient, you do not need to seal them any more. I'm sure some other member could use your cables once you remove them...
