I know I will have some loss of power. Am I going to have to worry about overheating or burning a piston if I pay attention and take it easy? Shamue Posted May 17, 2011 Share #2 Posted May 17, 2011 use regular unleaded (86 octaneor so) at high elevations, if at sea level higher grades (90 octane plus) may help if performance is questionable. remember to use the lower gears. i ride the rockies all the time and never had a real problem, just down shift.
