flb_78 Posted September 18, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 18, 2010 Your tassles are probably pulling the clutch or brake handle back and tripping the switch and shutting the cruise off.

BuddyRich Posted September 18, 2010 Share #4 Posted September 18, 2010 Yep, what he said. Even potholes will do it sometimes.
Guest my14car Posted September 19, 2010 Share #5 Posted September 19, 2010 Thanks flb_78 you were right the money it was the brake lever setting off the cruise control. Went out today found the problem. This is one great site we have here, Thanks Again
Scott_Nelson Posted April 8, 2011 Share #6 Posted April 8, 2011 I just bought a 2005 RSTD and it did that when I test drove it. There are no tassles on it. The problem cured itself after a couple of tanks of clean fuel and some Sea Foam. The bike had been sitting (only 6200 miles on it) and I suppose the dirty carbs were causing a misfire. I think the computer was shutting it down due to a loss of RPM or something.
