installing radio into 1983

They are not as hard as one might think. Having reliable parts from a 27 year old bike might be.

 

We just got the system working on my son's bike (we had all of the necessary parts already). You need the amp, radio/intercom controller, antenna & mount, speakers, headset to amp cable, and power connector.

 

Your bike may already have some of this and the remainder might be available from members here or ebay.

 

For the money, time and reliability... I'd go with a J&M CB unit (JMCB-2003). They come in the single or dual rider (dual rider has an intercom feature). This allows you to do everything the original audio system on the Venture had except AM/FM radio built in.

 

I added one of these to my wife's bike and she loves it and it performs well.
