Yammer Dan Posted July 19, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 19, 2009 Except for the time he wasn't blowing on it and it was still making noise???
Schlepporello Posted July 20, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted July 20, 2009 Except for the time he wasn't blowing on it and it was still making noise??? He was playing while being accompanied by a recording. If you listen close as the piece picks up, there are definately more parts being played. Schlepporello Posted July 21, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted July 21, 2009 he's recording each part and playing an accompanyment with himself. it's kidna impressive, imho. AND doing it on a carrot. And when he's finished playing, he'll have a healthy snack in his hands.

Vance Posted July 21, 2009 Share #8 Posted July 21, 2009 Impressive. Made me smile. How did he know where to drill the holes?
Schlepporello Posted July 21, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted July 21, 2009 How did he know where to drill the holes? I wish I knew. I'd be doing a bit of dabbling myself. Peter Schickele (a.k.a. P.D.Q. Bach) knows and he has built his "Left-Handed Sewer Flute", which sometimes plays in tune.
tomephil Posted July 21, 2009 Share #10 Posted July 21, 2009 Totally cool!! As to where to drill the holes, I think he had them marked. The way he held the carrot, you can't see the marks. There is some basic math as to where to space the holes. I used to make flutes, recorders, pan pipes etc. with pvc piping for my kids when they were young. Actually, I made it mostly for myself... Lots of fun.
Schlepporello Posted July 21, 2009 Author Share #11 Posted July 21, 2009 Yep, that's what I figured. If basic math is involved, I don't stand a chance.
