Water Temperature Gauge Idea

After reading recent posts about mounting gauges it got me to thinking more about mounting a water temperature gauge. I wanted to do something that could mount from the handlebars via a RAM mount. I've spent a little time today and visited some local parts stores and online sites and I think I may have found a solution. It was recommended that I use a marine gauage because they are sealed better. I found a web site that has everything I think I need except the actual RAM mount.

OK, I've ordered the components and I'm going to give this a try. I have a couple of questions regarding the plug and sensor mounting in the top of the head. Is any type of thread sealant needed on the plug threads? I hope not, I read somewhere that with and electronic gauge you need a good ground through the threads. Also, is there a torque spec for the plug?

the sender is grounded through the adapter which is grounded to the cyl. head.....so they say not to wrap the threads.........however, i wrapped around the gasket and the last couple of threads on the adapter that screwed into the cyl. head port....i don't wrap brass threads as i've never had trouble with them sealing.........i've never had any trouble with the gauges not working.....i don't know torque specs...
