Freebird Posted December 16, 2008 Share #3 Posted December 16, 2008 Sorry, I can't help on on the Royal Star. I put the Flanders bars on my RSV and it wasn't too difficult. Some folks have done it without replacing the brake, clutch and throttle lines and some have reported that they are too tight. I wanted the SS lines anyway so went with some that were 2" longer. On the RSV, you have to drill a hole on the throttle side to match with the protrusion on the housing that keeps it from rotating, probably the same on the Royal Star but I'm not sure. tsigwing Posted December 17, 2008 Share #8 Posted December 17, 2008 I did it a couple of weeks ago, it was pretty easy. The biggest pain for me was that I didn't change out any of the cables or lines, so I had to disconnect the front brake line where it t's under the forks. No big deal except it is a bit of a pain to bleed, I ended up buying a pump to bleed both the brakes and the clutch, but besides that no big deal. I welded a nut and washer inside the handlebars to re-use the stock end weights and had to buy a longer bolt. You have to drill a small hole in the handlebars for the throttle cable housing to sit in, easy enough. Disconnecting the throttle cables can be a bit of a pain, just make sure that you give yourself as much slack as possible. My biggest piece of advice? Don't get in a hurry.
