Ride2much Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 While riding through Yellowstone Park and heading into West after "doing the Bear Tooth"my head light went out. I pulled everything apart at a gas station and could not find a problem anywhere. Ended up driving 90 miles with my driving lights. The next day my mechanic beat his head against the wall looking for the gremlin. I made a jumper with alligator clips to at least have a low beam functional. Then I found the problem ,a sticky starter switch, it was not coming fully back out which cut out the headlight. (duh) A little W-D 40 on the switch and the light came back on . The jumper is tucked away inside the fairing just in case. Thought I might share this one, it's awful dark out there...
hipshot Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 seems to be a lot of "sticking switches" lately. thanks for the heads up. gonna build a set of "jumpers" and keep them in my trunk! just jt
Venturous Randy Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Thanks for the post. That is good information to know. I was going to suggest looking at the computer monitor as that can also be a problem on cold solder joints, but you found your problem. RandyA
