  1. Great thread, but what happened to the post with pics of the install that was here yesterday? It seems to have disappeared from this thread...
  2. You might also consider changing the gas filter while you are in there. You have absolutely plunged into this bike and that is a great thing. For replacement lines, brakes, consider going with Baron's stainless lines, and if you have the $$, the matching throttle cables as well. They look stunning and work well. How are your tires? Check your date codes (4-digit Weeks-Year) and replace if over 6 years max. (just my opinion). I am sure you have also replaced the battery, but if not be sure to do so just to save your regulator etc. in the electrical system. A bad cell can be hard to spot but can cause havoc. Everyone has responded on the coolant, but don't forget that if you use the Yamaha OEM you are assured of it working correctly and the right to take the dealer to task if it does not.
  3. Retrofitting both the Tour Classic saddlebag hardware, saddlebags, and rear guard rail set on a 1996 Royal Star Standard. To be clear, these are the factory saddlebags that came with the 4-piperTour Classic, and could be fitted to the Standard as well. Problem is I need either the saddlebag installation instructions or a picture that clearly shows what spacer/washer/? goes between the fender "smile" and the saddlebag rack, because clearly they cannot be put together without something in there! Next, if you also are using the rear guard rails, how exactly the rail upper flange sits against the saddlebag rack. Hope this is clear - can provide more description. Thanks in advance for either a pic of the instructions or pic of your bike showing how the whole thing goes together.
  4. Sorry if this has been dealt with before. Pulled the wheels to polish and get fresh rubber. In doing so, may have swapped the right- and left-side spacers that sit at either side of the front wheel, through which the axle slides and the wheel uses to "center" itself. These spacers are "handed" to sides on the front wheel I now know - what are the implications of mistakenly mixing them up? Will the front wheel now center "wrong" and thus throw the caliper-to-rotor off some millimeters or so? How would I know - the pads have always slightly brushed the dual rotors on the front wheel - is there a definitive way to say "Uh-oh, these spacers need to be switched from their current sides."
