All I'm going to say is that I have gathered more info on taking a $300 project bike to cycle I would feel comfortable riding across country. (With a few extra spare parts.) I hope Don does make more than a few bucks, he deserves it. I won't get into the capitalism debate, but I own my own business. So thanks to Don for doing what he does. And hopefully someday I will get to an event and meet some of the fine people on the board..

Thanks guys.. the cable is fully intact so I think I'm good , its just going to getting in there I git big hands.... The bulbs i will double check .

Well I told the old gal out for a 150 loop yesterday and two things happened...
One I lost the speedo, the cable came disconnected, I'm assuming I have to remove fairing to get it back on.
Second my left turn signal began to flash faster than the right, still working properly just faster than the right.
Any help from any body would be appreciated. The turn signal is s little weird.

yep. i did it with my 83. these are the parts i used.
Mike, Where did you pick up your parts used in the class bypass. Was it online deal or were you able to pick up local.

Not to hijack. The thread , but what do u need to make the back manual.
I got progressives up front nut the back will not hold pressure.

If you don't feel comfortable sewing a new piece in , I would take it an car seat cover place and have them repair the section.

Wish I could make but work and now a slave cylinder rebuild stand in way, I will plan ahead for next year... Hope everyone has great time and gets there cycles in tip top for the season.

You were right i got my top and bottom mixed but the part was the one i needed. I ended up getting em all from nwvintage out or Oregon. Rebuilt em Sta night installed this morning and promptly went on a 200 mile loop and got stuck twice in thunderstorms... But I did stop for Ice Cream. I got a lot of information from the posts on here and this site is invaluable. Thanks to all

Really want to finish getting the bike together this weekend, its the only time I have... with work.
But if anybody has a spare or knows who has one in stock that I can get shipped next day or such.

I got a piece of film and tried to clean the seal out its just not working out.... Out to the dealer tomorrow.... Mo money seems to be the saying..LOL

Well, mine has 120k as it sits, new engine with 15k. And after this weekends (last weekend I hope) I plan on it lasting another 50k.

If I wasn't ironing new tires, rebuilding a caliper, changing out the fork fluid, adjusting the steering knuckle, greasing splines, and drive fluid Exchange..... I would be there... I might even do a little wet sand. But hopefully after this weekend I will be good to go.

I'm only 41, and had my share of crotch rockets.. first ride I was sold, ample power and agility (less brakes). Besides a quick ride on a buddies cbr I will be sticking with the comfort of my VR.

Ok got the ignition cover fleabay ,
There were several of those.
Any help on the upper dash vent would be greatl. Can't find that anywhere.... Cycle yards local got nothing but frames.

There are couple on eBay, but seeing if any members have an extra they would like to sell.
Also looking for a air vent by the speaker right side when sitting on bike.

Yep... come home after a 13 hour shift and there she is laying on her side..... forgot how heavy of a bike she is.
Live and learn, at least no body damage..
