  1. I don't jump in too often but if a 1st gen is all a person can afford, then they SHOULD be proud of it. :happy34: regardless of whether they think it goes faster -

I must not beg, to differ,:stirthepot: but a 1st gen is not cheaper,:whistling: but it will go faster.

  2. Might be.....but not cost effective. :backinmyday:

Now careful there....you're giving the first genners ideas here, cause they seem to think their bikes are capable of flying..:bang head:

HAY:whistling: I so to can fly,:stirthepot: I took it off the ground:cool10: not 18 miles from my house.

    (hadtochangemyuknowwhats:( when I got home)

I truly don't want to do that agan!!!:whistling:

  3. :stirthepot:  Help me out here, oh...you Harvard educated ones...

Have been thinking of putting a CT in the rear and a BT ( bicycle tire) in the front.....

any ideas how to go about it? :innocent-emoticon:

Nothing has been said yet about airplane tires, are they OK?:rotf::stirthepot:

  4. I agree, great site and really good members. I've asked a number of questions (some bordering on dumb) and never had a "snooty" reply. I'll definitely be renewing.

You need to be more like me, and ask for snooty replys.:rotf:

  5. I am the 2nd owner of my 83 Venture max,:) the 1st owner was my best friend. I got the 83 after he had a hart attack :(and could not ride any more. It was born on 8/00/83, It was reborn in 2000:cool10: with the Vmax head upgrade. then agen in 2003/2004 with new internals, and triporting on the heads and 1mm over bore, max carbs and a stage 7 kit. Since I have known this bike since it went to the first owner,:stirthepot:can I be conciderd:whistling: to be in the running?

  6. And then while you are in the CMS You can do the jumpering so that it is ready to accept LED tail and brake lights and a HID headlight.

You have to be careful riding the 1st gens, If you go to fast and exceed the speed of light then the photons end up getting stuck in the light which backs up the power and causes problems. A more powerful bulb will force the light out even at warp speed.

Well you asked for some smartass comments........

    AND IT HAS BEEN:stickinouttounge: V-MAXED!!!:stirthepot:

  7. I went to go for a late afternoon ride today,:)(its 65 out in NW Arkansas).

While doing my pretrip, I found that I have no:( High beam, I changed the bulb and it still is out. I have no powerr to the bulb from the comp.:confused24:

I know that there is a fix somplace in the 1st gen teck area, but I'm unable to locate it.

I would like some smarta$$ remarks and then maybe someone could point me to the tec page on the repair. I do not want to pull the dash so I'm stuck with the rewire,by the way its an 83.

  8. Nice ride run your mouse over the flag it will tell you what state click on the globe it should show you a Google map. General topics are best posted in the watering hole. It's taking me awhile to figure out where everything is as I haven't been here very long either. I'm from southwest Ar. Welcome to the site :cool10:

    North West Arkansas.

  9. I got my 83 in 88, (it's been maxed since.):smile5:

    I got my other 83 in 98 or 99:icon_smile_question I don't remember, from a friend for 500bucks, and it ran like a champ,:pushups:

I now keep it (almost in stock condetion) for a friend;) that comes over from Scotland every now and then, That way he has a chance of keeping up with me,:smile5:

I paid another friend 200 bucks in 99 for an 87, All I wanted was the plastic, :pbut it ran.

then I got an 05 250 verago for the wife,:yikes: but she stoped riding alone after we got hit 2 months later, so I use it now and then.

I have antique plates on the 83s so I dont have to reregastor them, the insurance would only be about 100$ a year but I need more then the state min.
